Hi Debi - we also see Dr. Cohen at Children's Eye Physicians. They have an office near Dry Creek and Yosemite.
Best of luck!!
I've never taken my daughter to the eye doctor because they've always checked her vision at the pediatrician and felt it wasn't necessary. Lately, though, she's complained that her eyes are tired after watching even a little tv or looking at the computer, and a few other random times. So anyway, I'm looking for a pediatric eye doctor in the Highlands Ranch area. I would prefer an opthamologist and not just an optometrist. Thanks!

Our 7 year old daughter has been recieving vision care since she was 2 mos. old. We go to Children's Eye Physician's at their southeast office in Centennial. It is located just north of Park Meadows off of Yosemite. We have been seeing Dr. Anna Steele for the past 3+ years. My daughter got really wierd about needing a female doctor at one point and we switched to Dr. Steele. I really like her as does my daughter. Their website is http://www.cepcolorado.com. It is a very comprehensive practice for children's vision.
Ask your pediatrician who they recommend. If they have children, who do they take their kids to?
Hi Debi,
I don't know of a pediatric eye doc but I'm sure my doctor's office could give you a referal. We have gone to this office since I was a little girl and I'm now 35. http://www.visioncarespecialists.com/html/doctors.html#Ta...
Good luck!
There is a fantastic eye doctor in Castle Pines North -- talented, and very amusing to children. He asked my five-year-old if she was married, and did she have a motorcycle, and now she loves to go there to see what other funny things he's going to say.
He will not sell you eyeglasses if you don't need them. He will hand you the prescription if you'd rather buy the glasses at Wal-Mart. My whole family goes there now. We've hed two excellent Lasik referrals, and two children who needed eyeglasses.
He is Dr. Jason Ortman, on Castle Pines Parkway, in the little shopping center between Safeway and King Soopers. (From Highlands Ranch, you drive south on Quebec, which changes name to Monarch. Continue south to Castle Pines Parkway, make a left and it's abut 3/4 of a mile down the road on your right.)
Tell him that C. sent you. Good luck!
Our pediatrician also referred us to Children's Eye Physicians - we're going to see Dr. Cohen in a couple of weeks. Good luck!
Hi, I just read your message and believe your daughter should see a behavioral optometrist. You can find one in your area by going to COVD.org and typing in your zip code. Lots of children have 20/20 vision but could have problems seeing because their eyes don't work well together or they have a poor focusing system. Sometimes glasses can help or vision therapy (eye exercises) may be recommended. Opthalmologist specialize in surgery/disease and most likely not refractive and binocular vision problems. I am an optometrist and refer to behavioral optometrists for patients with these issues. Hope this helps! :)
We go to Dove Vision - excellent exam and service..
It might be a ways to where you live though...
They are located off Jordan and Broncos blvd near centennial airport.
We go to Children's Eye Physicians and see Dr. Cohen, they do a nice job there. I also reccomend Highland Family Optical for the glasses if you need them, they are more expensive but they have a warranty to replace damaged glasses including frame and lens. The office is on Yosemite and Dry Creek area.
