Need Recommendations for Hypoallergenic High Spf Sunscreen

My dd breaks out easily, lots of allergies, sensitivities and skin sensitivities.
I need a recommendation for a high spf sunscreen that goes on via lotion. She was able to handle the banana boat spray on baby sunscreen, but it's too hard to apply by herself. She uses the face suncreen that goes on by a stick (looks like a glue stick), but I need one for her body. We did try the banana boat baby sunscreen lotion, but it made her break out.

What can I do next?

We have some people with sensitive skin too. I have had good luck with Banana Boat Kids SPF 50. I looked and the ingredient list is different in the Kids version compared with the Baby version.

Go with physical (aka mineral) sunscreens -- ones containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, or just zinc oxide.

We've had serious issues with skin problems (extreme eczema) and allergies, and sun sensitivity.

I did a lot of research on my own, and got expert advice from her dermatologist.

Most brands that are on the shelves on stores just aren't reliable. Maybe they're ok for someone without any problems, but for the sun-sensitive, allergic and skin disease sufferers, they're not sufficient.

There are two brands that are consistent, tested, and approved for use by people with skin problems. One is Vanicream, and the other is EltaMD. Both brands have cleansers, skin moisturizers, and they also offer really reliable sunblock creams and lotions.

Vanicream can be found at pharmacies (sometimes kept behind the counter and you just have to ask the pharmacist) but I haven't seen EltaMD except for in dermatologist's offices. However, both are available online. I use the Vanicream for my daughter, and I buy it on Amazon.

My dermatologist recommended the physical blockers. He said the best for sensitive skin, like baby skin, is the Neutrogena with the Helioplex. I haven't had any problems using it over the last 5 years with either eczema prone kid.

My sons both have eczema and extremely sensitive skin. We use water babies pure and simple. It is hypoallergenic and works well to protect them from the sun. Just make sure you get the pure and simple, not the regular water babies, the bottles look almost the same.

Look for the Vanicream brand--white bottle with blue lettering and sometimes blue lid. It was specifically designed for patients with sensitive skin. Mayo Clinic uses their products.
