Please help, Our current Peditrician has informed her office requires all children to be immunized if we wish to continue to be a patient of hers we have to do all immunizations. I have a 3 y/o and 8 month old. I regret immun. fully my 3 y/o and after spending hours of research, have decided not to with our 8 month old. So far, I have stalled on getting the shots done but she has made it clear we must from here on out. I cannot find a Peditrician in Ellis County who is willing to let my husband and I make decisions on which vacc. if any we want for our children or be ok with us not doing any. Please help, much appreciated. We plan onhome schooling and Mom's Day Out-

What can I do next?

Well, I still have yet to find a Dr. but I did receive a few responses... I respect all 3 ladies thoughts. I truly appreciate Kelly's response for she really read what I was asking for...Thank you and best of luck to all mom's and families out there seeking to make the best choices for their children.

I hope you will reconsider not immunizing your little one. Regardless of the research, to me it seems a scary thought to depend on the "herd immunity" of human beings around you to protect your child from catching a dread disease. There are many unimmunized people who come here from countries where immunization isn't widespread, and that herd immunity won't protect your child when coughed or sneezed on in a public place by one of these individuals who recently crossed the border or flew in.
If my little one contracted polio and I could have prevented it . . .
I hope you'll reconsider.

Hi Mary,
Good for you! I am glad you did your own research and really WE (as parents) are the sole providers of our children and caretakers too! There are many who don't vaccinate due to the controversy of it. I don't want to know that i vaccinated my child and my child became one of the "1 percent" that died or had severe brain seizures. It is hard to make such a drastic knowledgable decision. Stand up for your reasons, if you don't Big Govt will (is trying) come in and tell EVERYONE to take the vaccinations. Just look at the swine flu vaccine, they don't tell you of the hundreds that have died and have had "reactions" do they?? Continue to do your research and yhour gut instict!
God Bless!

In regards to Leanne...I respect you opinion but until you have walked in someone elses shoes and done ALOT of research instead of relying on what doctors tell you only please don't discourage someone elses point of view. Are you aware that our government has a VAERS program? VACCINE Adverse Events Reporting System. Funny the millions upon millions of events that are reported...especially in children under the age of four yet unless your "normal" child is affected you would never even think to glance at this data. My family has no history of any reaction to vaccinations. My son had no underlying medical issues....yet within 60 seconds of receiving just 2 vaccinations he was violently seizing and rushed to Children's hospital. His seizures lasted only a few minutes but unfortunately our precious boy will never be considered "normal" again. I was the mom that took my son in on the exact day his vaccinations were due everytime. What gets me is she was only asking for a doctor who does not "push" the subject of vaccinations. She was never refusing to vaccinate against anything and everything. It is more likely she wanted to weigh the options of when the child gets particular vaccinations and how many to give. Quite honestly, some of the vaccinations they now require our children to have are not dangerous diseases. Perhaps it is these she is choosing to not get. Perhaps she wants to wait for her child to be over the age of 6 months (when their immune system will actually be more developed therefore they will hold immunity longer) verses getting the same shot at 2 months, 4 months and 6 months. ofcourse as a mother i understand you saying if your child would have contracted polio and you could have prevented it you dont know what you would do........BUT what if it was a simple vaccination like the flu shot or chicken pox and your child never recovered. Imagine how those moms feel knowing they should have taken more of an interest in what was being pushed into their child than just being scared by governmental and BIGPHARMA tactics. do you honestly think they care about your individual child..........

We go to Dr. Thomison in Red Oak. I don't know if he pushes immunizations or not but I have always waited to schedule my kids appts if I know that they need vaccinations. I don't believe that every child is equal and since every child gets the same dosage regardless of weight, size, etc. I have just chosen to push all visits/vaccinations off by two to three months. My boys still get vaccinated but I wait until they are a little bigger. My oldest (almost 4) was huge for his age and still is - 46 lbs and wears a size 12 shoe already - so I wasn't as concerned for his but I still waited. My youngest (just turned 2) still hasn't been in for 2 yr old checkup because he will need vaccinations. I'll take him in a month or two.
My doctor isn't a huge stickler. He really works with you and wants to understand your concerns. Try him out. He is a family doctor and has like five kids so I trust him to know his stuff about the little ones!
Good luck!
