I have just taken back my master closet after 13 years of clutter and disorganization. It has a new coat of paint and I have donated my old clothes to the Arlington Women's Shelter. I've invested a fortune in new hangers, but now I'd like to find some unprinted, clear dress bags like dry cleaners use. I need about 20 in different sizes and the single ones at stores cost up to 10.00 each. Does anyone know of a dry cleaners that uses totally clear bags and might sell me some?
I guess I'm looking for visual closet perfection just once in my life and hope it inspires me NOT to clutter it up ever again.

From what I can tell, I think the bags have protected the clothes more than hurt them and some things are quite old and the old bags have been thrown out. I have some ridiculous things including a feather edged sweater and three heavily sequined outfits that concern me in an "open" closet on the rack. I'm still a bit squeezed. I have noticed that the dry cleaners seems to demolish the elastic waistband in my silk pants though. It might be the plastic indeed. Time was, before I actually shopped for no-wrinkle travel clothes, that a thin plastic bag from the cleaners kept packed clothes from wrinkling and for men's shirts, it's still the best way I think. I'm not sure that a roll of them would be a bad thing at 40.00.

I actually just watched on a nightly news show a story on dry cleaners and what goes on but at the end of the show the owner of the cleaners they were talking to said as soon as you get your clothes home take them out of the bags because the chemicals break down and can fade your clothes
I would just call around dry cleaners in your area. Or maybe even try the tuxedo shop in the mall or other dress shops. If you really want, you can order them, but them you'd be stuck with tons of bags:

I have also heard that keeping your clothes in the bags will harm them... but I don't know if it's the actual plastic or if it's that the plastic is containing the dry cleaning chemicals.
Either way, since you'll most likely be dry cleaning the dresses that you want to store and protect so neatly you probably won't want to keep the plastic on them.

Want to come to my house? I got a lot of closet space with California Closets that cost me a fortune and now I still throw junk in there. I guess it is the price of living alone. No clothing in there from any man. But still I seem to clean the rest of the house and have closets a mess. I go through them and put them back without making progress. 59 years of stuff adds up. G.
