Need Insurance Quick!

I have a dilemma. I came home today to a letter from Minnesota Care saying that we are over the income limit to have insurance through them. This is totally stupid because I only work 10 hours a week and they are judging my fiance's income pre-tax. We lose around $600 per paycheck to taxes!! Anyway they say my daughter is still eligible for now but I am not. My fiance and I are getting married next June so I can't get on his insurance till then. We are planning the wedding now and without insurance I am not sure how I will be able to afford birth control. I don't want to get pregnant right now being as I would like the whole wedding thing to happen first.
Any of you know where I could buy my own insurance for a decent price?
I would really appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well the state had our income wrong as I suspected. Our insurance (and my peace of mind) has been reinstated but I wrote down all your great ideas and have also passed them on to some friends and coworkers of mine.
Thanks so much!

I was going to recommend Planned Parenthood! Looks like someone beat me to the punch ! Although I'm not married to my fiance' yet. But, I have been on his Medical Insurance for the last 5 1/2 years ( before we had a wedding date in site). But, his employer has been really flexible so maybe thats why I had such good luck with that ! Well, Good luck ! Congrats with the wedding!

If your only concern is birth control, contact Planned Parenthood. They should be able to help. Not sure where you live, but there is one at Rice and Larpenteur (little strip mall by Western Bank).

As for insurance, I have no ideas on that.

Wow your insurance pays for your birth control? nice.
I have 2 people you can try talking to.
Jeremy Loretz of Loretz/Johnson agency in Anoka or
Dan Pecka of Oakwood Insurance in Elk River. and if they can't help you they can certainly recommend the proper person.
hope this helps, good luck.
congrats on the wedding.

Does your boyfriends employer allow domestic partnerships? That is how I have insurance. My boyfriend and I just had to prove that we live together for a yr in order for me to get insurance. If that is not an option then I would go to plan parenthood for the birth control
Good luck

I am actually leaving my full time position to part time at work and have to look for insurance also. My son will go under my fiance's, so at least he is covered. I called Blue Cross/Blue Shield of MN directly and they will send out and consult with you over any questions you may have. I have found that Simply Blue is the cheapest they offer - I think it will be cheaper for you because you are still in your early 20's. Otherwise, I just looked on line under cheap insurance and started to get information to see what would work best for me. Planned Parenthood uses a sliding scale for appointments and for birth control purchase. That may be also be a good option for you. Good luck!
