D.S.
My son has gone to Dr. Santilli's partner at Air Care, Dr. Rick Herrscher for about 11 years now. We've been quite happy with the practice.
Our almost 2 year old daughter had an allergic reaction to fish, and our pediatrician recommended either Dr. Michael Ruff with Dallas Allergy and Asthma Center or Dr. Gregg Santilli with AIR Card MD. Does anyone have any experience with either of these two doctors or their associated practices? Are they good with young children? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the responses. I have made an appointment!

Dr. Ruff is amazing. I just LOVE him. He is wonderful with kids and with parents. My daughter was around your daughter's age when I took her in for a nut allergy and I was in denial. He was so kind and understanding. I love that he really listens and cares. I highly recommend that you visit him!
My daughter has been going to Dr. Ruff since about age 2 (she's now 6 1/2). She is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.
We had a very bad experience with the first pediatric allergist we saw, so
I got a recommendation to see Dr. Ruff from the adult allergist that my father has seen for several decades.
Dr. Ruff said the same things as the first allergist we went to, but not in the same condescending way. He is very nice, takes time to answer questions, and speaks directly to my daughter now that she's getting older. He's more conservative than the first allergist we went to, which I prefer. I know several parents who take their children to Dr. Ruff who are happy with him too. I have not heard of Dr. Santilli.
If you have questions, please let me know.
I have no direct knowledge of Dr. Ruff, but have several friends that see him or his partner Dr. Gross, and seem to like their practice. Their practice has been around for a long time. We have been seeing Dr. Santilli for over 5 years now. Your pediatrician recommended him because he is phenomenal with young children and, more importantly, is a great physician. His gentle, friendly manner seems to immediately put children at ease. Actually, he has been great with friends and family (of every age) that I have referred to him. He is unbelievably professional, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I have never felt rushed as he answered my questions, and his instruction regarding medications and diagnosis is hands down the most thorough we have ever had. I believe he has been practicing in Dallas for about 6-7 years now, before that, he was in Midland, Texas. A good friend, who was a patient in Midland, now travels 5 hours to see him here. She says that he has a huge, loyal patient base in Midland who travel here to see him on a regular basis. He genuinely listens and respects what I say to him and I have never felt belittled in any way. You can tell he absolutely loves what he does, and he loves making people feel better. He also doesn't delegate our care to a nurse or P.A. the first available moment. He has changed my son's life. We love him. We are so fortunate to have him in Dallas. Sorry Midland! The other physicians at Air Care MD, are also top notch. Love Dr. Lange and Herrscher too!
I've actually been going to dr. Ruff as and adult for years. Not really sure how that happened since he's pediatric, but he was recommended to me. I think he is great, and if I need an allergist one day for my daughter I will definitely take her to him. He is so great at answering questions and being very patient!
I love Dr Ruff and his partner Dr Gross. Excellent practice. You won't be disappointed.
