Hello All ^_^!
My baby will be turning 1 at the end of the year (Dec 28th). I want to throw a small party for family and close friends, but even a small group wont fit in our apartment. I know I can wait until the weather gets better, but I really want to do something on his actual birthday. Nothing big since he wont remember, but I want to share my joy and food and drink in a nice warm setting=)
Any Ideas????????

What can I do next?

We had our 3 yr old's 1 yr party at Chuck E Cheese. Even tho he didn't do much all the other kids had fun, and the parents could sit around and chat while my older kids helped with the younger kids. Unfortunately their food isn't that great tho.

As far as working from home, have you ever considered selling Avon. It only costs $10 to get started. It's what I do so I can stay home with our six kids. Now just before Christmas is the perfect time to get signed up! Let me know if you want more info!

If your family and friends are mostly adults I wouldn't try to do the Chuck E Cheese thing. I would choose a fun activity you will all enjoy. A favorite restaurant or possibly Bowling etc... You're right, the baby won't remember, but if you are having fun and enjoying yourself he will too. You will still be celebrating HIS birthday, and at that age YOU are truely celebrating more than he is, so do something you can all enjoy. One of the best birthday parties we had was for my sons birthday at the bowling alley. We got a lane for the adults and one for the kids. It allowed the adults to enjoy themselves as well as the kids. Everyone was much more relaxed. It was also much cheaper than renting out some party place for kids. Just an idea... Hope all goes well.

I hope you can find something for that date because of the holidays. I would start calling now, just in case because everything will be booked soon if it isn't for parties.

Maybe somewhere like Mazzios or Pizza Hut? They also have a place called the Jump Zone. But I'm not sure about the birthday parties or the age limits. The zoo is always a good place to go, and that is one place that may not be booked up. The weather may not be too bad, because sometimes during December we're lucky enough to get 70s, and I think they actually have indoor facilities to hold parties in case the weather is bad. Or, if you have a church, the best bet would be to ask them to use their fellowship hall. That's actually the first place I'd start is your church or other churches, just call now!!!

Good luck!

We have done Chuckee Cheese and you can bring your own cake and sit at a regular table instead of paying for a party room. We go when they open at 10am on the weekends and it is not so busy and the kids play until we decide to order pizza and they do have a salad bar. I can't think of too many places that would offer the room without all the cost the party package. Kidzstreet childcare place will do parties on sundays as they are not open so it would just be your family and a couple of workers and they would have a toddler/baby area and older kids area. Not sure where you live but there is one in Edmond and I think the other is in Moore. Again it may be a party package.
