Need Ideas for Joint Birthday Party

My mother and husband share the same birthday. This year, he's turning 36 and she'll be 60. I've decided to have a little birthday lunch for them in a private room at a local restaurant they both like. I wanted to personalize it for them, but the gender and age difference make it a little difficult for me to come up with ways to do so. I don't have a particular theme in mind, just a celebration of life. Anyone ever faced with this party challenge? Any ideas?

What can I do next?

You could have a xbox 360 party ... get it (36 and 60 smushed together?)
Seriously. I would do something like that, but that's me.

Otherwise, I would probably just get some nice flowers for your mom, get them each their own cake or dessert and leave it at that.

maybe do trivia about the year they were born if they are not sensitive to those type things. Bring fun props from the year and interesting facts and ask them questions: Do you remember when...and mark certain years.

Check out this website: http://karaspartyideas.com/p/party-categories.html

It's mostly kids parties and you probably aren't planning to be so lavish but they have some great ideas - maybe you'll find some inspiration! Do they have complimentary fave colors - like blue and red or something? I am thinking you could decorate with 1/2 the room being one color and 1/2 being the other - all red flowers, all blue flowers, all red balloon bunch, etc...you get the point. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
