My husbands birthday is Wednesday, and I need some ideas that our girls can do for him. This is what I have to work with - No money to buy anything extra:-( Construction Paper, Cement Glue, Stamps (maybe), Finger Paints, and the Crayola Washable Kids Paint. My girls are 9, 4, and 2 and I would like to do something for him, but I have no idea what!!! Please help!

Thanks

What can I do next?

Can you print pics of the girls from digital photos and then have them make their own personalized frames for them...maybe take them to work? My kids also love to make pen holders for my husband at work. We use soup cans and decorate them with whatever we can find. You can decoupage a soup can too with plain glue if you have it. Just print pix of the girls or let them decorate with whatever you've got and brush on the glue with a paint brush. When it dries clear, it's sealed and looks "official" as my 8 yr old daughter says.

Well, I always have my kids make daddy a card, and then I usually make him something too. His favorite was a collage I did of pics of our daughter and him (this was before the baby was born). He had it on his desk at work for years. You could also ask the older ones to fill out a questionaire about their dad. Questions like, "My dad is my hero because..." " My favorite memory with daddy is..."

One year for my husband's birthday, I had my kids put their handprints on an artboard I got at Michaels for about $4 (I had a coupon also). You could do the same with contruction paper and have them write their names by their handprint. I had mine place their prints at odd angles so it was not just all in a row (their hands were the same size). Try it out on a regular piece of paper first to make sure not too much or too little paint. You could attach the paper to cardboard if you have a box you could cut up and buy a cheap frame when you can. I like the idea of having the kids write a little essay about him too. If you have a video camera, you could have them put on a little skit for him and record it so he can watch whenever he wants. And make a big to-do about presenting him with the gift.

Do some artwork/pictures/birthday card. We have made pictures with gluing beads to construction paper. You could also have them write a letter and mail it to yourself and he can get a special piece of mail for his birthday. I would imagine that it would get there in time - if not it would be there the day after. That would be a good idea for next year....;). Good luck.
