I volunteered to bring the Goodie Bags to my son's Pre-K class 100 Day Party (they celebrate the 100th day of school). They are already going tpo have a snack and will be making trail mix, so I wanted the goodie bag to be something other than food or candy. I came up with the idea of stickers, but would like some btter ideas.

Thanks for all the great ideas. The goody bags were successful. Here's what I did:
packs of colorful lunch bag style goodie bags, filled with: 1 folding plastic ruler, 1 tye dye pencil, 1 small notepad, 1 eraser that looks like a $50 bill, 1 plastic gold coin with "100 days" written on it, 1 die, and one hundred dollar bill I made by photocopying double sided. I tried to make it number-themed. The kids seemed to like the folding ruler and the 100 dollar bill the best. Total cost around $45 for a class of 21.
You could add playdough( they sell them in packs of 8 at my dollar store), craft kits, small coloring books and crayons, stickers, little puzzles, bouncy balls, bubbles, etc. Go look in the party store/dollar store. You will get tons of ideas there. Good luck :)

I don't know what your budget is, and how much time you have, but I would recommend an "old school" game that the kids can play - such as Jacks or Mini Card Games. These can often be purchased at party or $ stores, and are often completely new to today's kids. They encourage interaction, and can be played on the playground, etc.

Mini cans of playdough are always a hit at this age. Sidewalk chalk is another treat I've used.

you've gotten some GREAT ideas already. Deifnately check out the dollar store they always have cute litte toys. Walmart for small playdoh and then he dolar isles at Target for cute little toys. Also bubbles are always fun.

They have a great Cheap section at Target if you have one near by they seel books, cute note pads, pens, cups etc. My other suggestion is 5 below...if you have one of those around they have great stuff.

Hi, M. - You might want to try the Dollar Store (or drug store) for some inexpensive, small toys. I don't know how much lead time you have on this, but there is a great catalog company called The Oriental Trading Company that has lots of great items for kids. Good luck and have fun! N.
How about puzzles? We just had 100 days at our school and my son brought one of his 100 piece puzzles. they usually have those little 50 pc ones at the dollar store, you could do 2 a bag.
Since 10 x 10 is 100, an easy goodie bag would be to provide each child with 10 of 10 different items. The children could count the 10 items in the bag.
These do not have to be expensive items. Stickers are great, and you could actually provide 10 of one kind of sticker and 10 of another kind of sticker, and so on.
Other ideas are 10 marbles, 10 shells, 10 pebbles, 10 crayons, 10 pencils, 10 whistles, 10 bouncy balls, 10 stars, 10 strings, 10 pictures to color (make copies of the original, and make them small so that you can fit about 6 per sheet.)
One other suggestion: Child-friendly businesses are ALWAYS looking for ways to get their messages out to targeted audiences and would WELCOME the chance to place coupons in goodie bags.
Here are some examples....Ice cream places offer buy-one-get-one free coupons frequently. Sometimes karate schools or gyms will offer a coupon for one free session, hoping that it will be so much fun the child will register for an ongoing session. Call toy stores, book stores, restaurants, and don't forget hair salons. Most of these businesses like to give 20 percent off coupons for situations such as yours. Maybe you can get 10 businesses to give you coupons so that you can give each child 10 coupons.

Stickers are always good. They love playdough - you can make your own and give them each a small portion in a zip lock baggie (with the recipe attached for the parents). New pencils - unsharpened - are always fun. Look in the toy aisle at the dollar store - those little plastic animals are good and the army guys are awesome if you are a little boy. The "grow" capsules are fun - maybe the teacher can demonstrate one in school so the kids know what to do when they get home. They have animals and dinosaurs...
If you have time, purchase some seed packets and make each child a wildflower seed packet with a few seeds. If you can get the tiny flower pots, you can put the seeds with the flower pots.

If you go to a party aisle or a party store, you can use those favors as goodie bag treats. The kids love little bubbles, balls, pencils, etc., and they're not eating anything bad! Also, Play-doh has little individual-size cans that are great for party favors. (They might even say party pack, I'm not sure.) Hope this helps some!
