The OBGYN I had when I delivered my son recently closed his practice & recommended that his patients transfer to a specific doctor. Not knowing any better, I went ahead & started seeing this doctor. I've had nothing but awful experienced with him & I want to change doctors ASAP.
I loved my initial doctor because he always took time for questions & had a great office staff. Everyone was personable & didn't treat you like a number. I'm pregnant with my 2nd child & looking for a similar experience with a new doctor.
I've gotten recommendations for the following doctors:
- Dr. Ann Kent
- Dr. Jonathan Wheeler
- Dr. Lisa Karamardian
If you have any feedback on these doctors - good or bad - please let me know.

I have heard Dr. Karamardian is a great doctor but her bed side manner is a little rough. I have not heard of the other two doctors on your list.
I go to Dr. Stephanie Ricci in Newport and Huntington Beach and had her deliver my first son and will have her deliver my second as well.
I don't know either of those doctors but I will tell you Dr. Weatherford Clayton is across from Hoag and he's AMAZING. I love him and his staff. Ive had my 3 boys with him and have not ONE complaint. When I say I love him... I honestly mean that I do love him. He's so good to his patients. He came in and delivered one of my son's when he wasn't even on duty (came in from a nice dinner and my water broke all over his nice dinner jacket and he kinda laughed about it)!! Everyone that I have ref to him LOVES him too.
Dr karamardian delivered all 3 of my children. She is a bit serious at first but she was making me laugh after the 2 child. I love her and wouldnt have wanted another dr to help deliver my children. She is very well known at Hoag and most importantly is GREAT at what she does.
Dr. Jonathan Wheeler delivered both my girls. I had c-ssctions for both and he was amazing. His staff is even better! I cannot say enough good things about Teresa his nurse practitionerr. He has very good/new equipment in his office. He can do all the ultrasounds in his office. I had placenta previa with my first daughter and he treated the situation seriously, but did not make me freak out. You cannot go wrong with him. I've been a patient of his for over 6yrs now. He is truly great.
I don't know any of those doctors, but wanted to give you another recommendation. If you are willing to deliver at Saddleback, the Orange Coast Women's Medical Group (OCWMG) is fantastic. Several friends and I all go to doctors there and we have all had really good experiences. Saddleback is also a good hospital to deliver at and there are lots of food options nearby if you don't want hospital food (esp for your husband since he doesn't get his meals free).
My doctor was Dr. Margaret Audell and I loved her. She always had time for me, answered my questions, and rarely ran behind schedule by more than a few minutes.

I just delivered my 3rd son with Dr. Karamardian. I have been seeing her for almost 10 years now. She is a great doc and truly cares for her patients. She is no nonsense though, she will tell you what you need to do and not do during pregnancy....ie: weight gain etc.;) I have been really happy with her and her staff. Her nurse Liz in awesome and the nurse practitioners in her office are great too. They are very quick to return calls and answer questions and concerns. Dr. K is very up to date on issues concerning pregnancy which is always good. Dr. Flora (in the same office) delivered my first son as Dr. K was out of town and she was fantastic too. She is very sweet! Good luck!
