Need Holiday Gift Ideas for Daycare Teachers!!!

As a provider I certainly don't expect anything from my kiddos, but some things that are great are gift cards (even to staples or walmart since so much of the materials we buy come out of pocket), candles, I once got a pizza set-pizza stone, cheese grater, small ladles, spices, etc which was great because I make pizza with the kids all the time, some other ideas might be: baking sets- cookie sheet, rolling pin, sugar cookie mix, spatula, movie bucket- popcorn container, gift certificate to nearby movie place, couple boxes of candy, Large Mug (could even put child's handprint on it) with some hot chocolate mix or soups. Again, it's all about the thought!!

I usually stick to gift cards.Everyone can use those.I make a pistacchio bread and give a dunkin donuts card.I think a $10 gift card for anything would be appreciated.Gas,movies etc. T.

I am a teacher myself and I can tell you that we are bombarded with food items around the holidays - not always a good thing for a chocolate lover like myself! I always appreciate gift cards to really anywhere - itunes, Visa gift cards, Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks, CVS, groceries, whatever. Anything is always appreciated, even a nice bouquet of flowers. It's nice to know that parents appreciate the effort we put into their kids during the day - that is the thought that really counts. Good luck!

Things you can give

A letter saying how much you appreciate all your caregiver has done for your child...these are great for teacher files!

A gift cert. to anywhere they sell teacher supplies or craft supplies. As a teacher, I spend close to $500 if not more during a school year

Books for the classroom

Band together with the other parents and get your teacher a gift certificate for a massage, or a pedi or mani... .these are always my favorite!

Go to a paint ceramic place and make a plate or cookie jar etc.

Teachers get a ton of mugs, handcream and chocolate...skip those
Go for an ornament or have your child tell you as you scribe what he/she loves about his/her teacer....then they can illustrate above and then frame it.

I am also a teacher and I agree that gift cards are always my favorite gifts to receive. But the ones you remember most are the ones you know the kids helped with more than just being required to sign your name. You can tell when a child chooses or makes your gift.

I usually have my son participate in making the gifts for his teachers. Last year as a 1 year old (nearly 2) he finger painted gift bags that I had taped off stripes on to write "Happy Holidays" and "Love Arik" in. Then we filled them with stationary and a mini photo album with a picture of my son in it, and lots of room for other pictures too.

I know I said gift cards, but the toddler room has a staff of 8 an they are all involved in my child's care, and being a teacher I personally couldn't afford 8 gift cards!!! This year I still have to make items for the toddler staff (my son's the oldest now, but can't be moved 'cause preschool is full) so he's going to help me paint wooden frame ornaments and then I will again put his smiling mug in them.

You really don't need to give a gift. Just a holiday greeting card will do. Its the thought that counts :)

My sister is a teacher and she loves gift cards to Dunkin Donuts or even the grocery store or target or a gas card. Something everyone can use.

A Photo Picture Coffee/Tea Mug!! She Can Put A Picture Of Her Present Class In The Frame Of The Mug.
I Know Starbucks Has Tall Slim Ones...I Got One, But I Think It Cost $11 Or So. ;D
