Ok... my son will be turning 5 in January and this is his first year to invite all his friends from pre-school. Does anyone know of something fun to do (inside... it will be cold) for about 15 - 16 5yr. olds?? Something that will keep them all busy for a couple of hours. Anything would be great. Thanks so much!!

I teach a computer class to children ages 3-7. The class is an absolute blast, the kids absolutely LOVE it! We do birthday parties. I am a portable program so we would bring everything to your home. I can accomodate up to 14 kids. The program runs for about an hour. You can check out our website at www.imaginetomorrow.com to get more info on what we do. Let me know if you're interested and I can send you some more information with more details. ###-###-#### -N.
My son did his 4 yr old birthday party at Einstein Kidz and everyone loved it! My friends' kids are still talking about it 6 months later. They have a wonderful program!
My son just last weekend attended an indoors birthday party at a home. The theme was the movie Rat-a-touly (sp) and they had paper chief hats for each child to decorate with glitter pens, stickers, colored cotton balls, etc. Then they each got to make their own indiviual pizza's (the parents had put the pizza items in bowls and let each child build their own). The rest of the time the kids ended up playing with the birthday kids toys...but you could get some games to play like 'pin the tail on Batman, the pony etc. Look at party city for games. Good luck...also in my experience, even though you invite all 15 kids from pre-school, only a hand full show up...!
Einstein Kidz in Frisco has fun birthday parties for preschoolers. The kids become computer detectives and solve a fun mission. It's a fun unique concept! You can check them out at www.einsteinkidz.com.
ASI gymnastics is a fantastic place to have a party. WE had my sons party there and my daughter wants to have her party there. The prices are great and the staff was awesome and so helpful.
We had ours at the one in Firewheel, but I have heard they are all good.
We have always had birthday parties at home, though usually not more than 10 kids. I find that it's easier with it unstructured. When the kids arrive they all go to the playroom to play for a while. The visiting kids like to see all the toys so that keeps them entertained for a while. When they lose interest I steer them to the cake and singing, etc. That keeps them busy for a few minutes. Some kids go back to playing. Soon we open gifts. I always have my kids open gifts in front of the giver. I think it makes the giver feel special too. The kids like to play with the new toys and then it's time to go home.
Instead of playing right away I've had them decorate their goodie bags using themed stickers and paper lunch bags. I'll then fill it and add a balloon while they play. I keep it real simple and let the kids dictate. On nice days they can play outside on the playset. Neither kid has ever complained or asked to have the party somewhere else. Guess they enjoy it.
Here is a fun idea I did for my 8 year old daughter.
You will have to tailor to your child. We sent out invitation saying that the Princes jewels had been stolen and we need help to find them. I printed the invitations on a thicker stock and rolled them up like a scroll and tied them with string. We placed clues around the yard (this can be done inside too) that would lead to the jewels. We would read the clues and the kids would take off together to find the next clue until they came to the box. Once the box was found we handed out the "jewels" to the kidos as part of their goody bag. We had children ranging from age 5 - 9 and they all enjoyed it. A pirate them or King them would be cute for a boy and you can change what the treasure hunt is for. It keeps the kids busy for a while and they seem to really have a good time.
