Need Help About My Daughter's "Girl Parts"

My daughter has, for the past week, been crying when she goes pee, saying that her "girl parts" hurt. I was assumming that it was because I was wiping her with toilet paper instead of the Kandoo wipes. Like maybe she wasn't getting clean enough from the toilet paper. She will be turning 3 on the 28th of Jan. and has been potty-trained since July. She's also been having a lot of accidents in her undies. I was also thinking UTI. Last night, she was crying before bed because it hurt to go potty again, so I laid her down on the floor and looked at her girl parts to see if I could see anything. I saw that her hole was really really small. I took her to the Derby Clinic today and the Dr. had to pull open her vaginal opening. I tried to pull a little last night, but it started bleeding down a crease of her parts. This doc just pulled it wide open. He said that it happens sometimes when girls don't wipe good and don't pull it open good. I've never heard of this and can't find anything written about girls parts closing up. He gave me antibiotics for the possible UTI and hydrocortisone cream to rub on her parts twice a day.
I just realized that the same thing happened to my daughter in Feb. 2008. My memory is just awful and I completely forgot that we went thru this then. The doctor then didn't even look at my daughter's girl parts to see anything.
Any help would be great!!

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your help. We took her to a urologist. He said that he's seen this in other little girls. It's from them not producing enough estrogen. He gave us a hormone cream to put on her for 10 days. He said that they always try the cream first and then if that doesn't open it, then they pull it open. So now I know for next time: do the cream first! She's doing fine now. No pain. Thanks again!

Good Morning S.. I think I would get a second opinion. Or if you have a OB GYN call them and ask that question.
My sister works @ College Hill OB-GYN on Hillside and 2nd. I am sure they would be glad to answer your question. Dr. Stork-Flurry? (female) Something like that was our DIL's OB.

Or make an appointment with a urologist, have her checked.
Little boys sometimes close up, it's very possible little girls would also. Maybe a yeast infection something like that.

God Bless S., hope you find an answer soon.

You need to get this investigated, and don't wait or mess around with family practice. A child should not have pain with urination. You could ASK an OBGYN, as the other mother mentions, but they are not used to doing pediatric care so much. I'd start with a good pediatrician, who specialize in such problems, they can then refer to either a urologist or OBGYN if they think it's necessary, one they are USED TO USING for these specific problems, age and gender specific. I cannot recommend highly enough, Mid-Kansas Pediatrics, east location ###-###-#### or west side ###-###-####. They have Drs that take new patients, and will work to get her seen soon. Once established, you will wonder why you ever went anywhere else.

Good Luck, S.! Give your little girl a hug for me. She shouldn't have to suffer such things, God bless her!

It happened to us when my daughter was around 9 months old. She gave us a steroid cream to put on it and told me it would eventually open up. It did after about 2 weeks and hasn't closed back since.
