Need Gift Ideas for Host of My Bridal Shower and Very Dear Friend

My good friend and fellow attorney is hosting a bridal shower for me. She has also helped me tremendously with wedding planning. In addition, she is handling my custody battle, the most important event in my life, and she is doing the case, because of my financial situation, at no cost. Please help me think of a way to repay her!

What is something I can get her to show her how much I appreciate what she has done? I have told her many times, in person and via email, how much I appreciate her, but I want to give her something special. Deciding what to get is proving difficult because she is very well off, and I am not, so what do you get the person that has everything!?

Please give me suggestions for a meaningful gift to show my gratitude. Thank you in advance moms!

What can I do next?

Hi Kim,

How about giving her a massage or a facial or mani and pedi? since she is working so hard in your custody battle and has worked hard in your bridal shower and helping you with the wedding why not give her comething that can help her destress? I know some salons have a day at the spa for like $150 which includes a massage or facial and manicure and pedicure! Just a suggestion. you are very lucky to have such a onderful friend

What about writing her a letter expressing what her friendship means to you? Or Hallmark makes a card for that, I'm sure.

If you were looking for a token of appreciation - does she have a favorite food you could make? She's an attorney and I'm assuming she's a busy person -- can you surprise her by cleaning her house? Making her dinner - something she can freeze for later?

What a nice friend.

Get her a luxurious pampering massage. I was going to suggest the Peninsula downtown Chicago (my husband got me the half-day works that included a facial, body wrap, lunch, massage, and manicure...it is hands down the best I've ever experienced), but I see that you are in Decatur so that might not work. At any rate, find a spa close to you and get her a sweet package that includes several relaxing treatments. She's "taken care" of you so now it is time for you to "take care" of her!

Hi Kim,
First, remember it is not the amount you spend, what you have or she has that counts. DO Something for her. Remember things that you have done together, talked about doing, or things she wants to do and wont, start there. If you do something small so what! There will be a time in her life when you can "repay" her in other ways. If she is a true friend she is doing it because she wants to not because she expects something in return.
Best Wishes!

Wow...what a wonderful friend! Something personal and from the heart. I love this company and have bought many framed quotes from them. Sometimes at the mall they have kiosks so you can check to see if there are any locations for them. I included their website. Their prices are not outrageous and they have some of the most wonderful quotes that I've seen!

As you maneuver through the site, keep in mind, to view any of the quotes for a particular item, you must first click on "order this item"... then, on the next page... hit "continue" and by doing this, you will be able to get into their "quote list" for that particular item. They have many different "quote pages" and each different style of framed artwork carries its own quote list. (I love the Winnie-the-pooh.. if you live to be 100" quote!)

How about something personalized just for her? If you want to contact me direct I can help with some suggestions but we have some great ideas in our catalog. What are her likes? hobbies? fun time?
Please feel free to go look at the catalog - we can personalize with names, monograms or catchy/favorite sayings. Hopefully I can help you out a little.

Sounds like you have a great friend! I am the owner of Tweet Tweet Boutique and something I did for a baby shower was give personalized ribbon keychains to all of the guests (it was for my brother and he and his wife was expecting a boy so we did chocolate brown and blue ribbon/thread). Maybe a personalized keychain in your wedding colors would be a little something special to give or add to a gift. A personalized gift is unique and just special. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect gift.
