My son is turning 3 in December. He has chosen "Spiderman" as his theme this year. I am trying to think of a couple of activities/games for the kids to do this time. I didn't do this for the last 2 parties, since he was still so young, so I am knew at organizing games. Any ideas? Also, I have bought favors for the kids that will be at the party, but do I need to buy some kind of favor for 2 babies that will be in attendance also? If so, what is appropriate. We are trying to not go over board on our spending this year, b/c we are also going to Disney World for Christmas. Thanks in advance for all of your great ideas! I look forward to reading your comments! :)

If you are having the party in a place with a yard or outdoor area get them each cans of silly string (try a dollar store) and call it spiderweb and let them "get" each other with it. You could even break them into spidermen and black spidermen like the latest movie and get them masks or let them make them so they who is on which team.

Get a spiderman pinata and fill it with leftover trick or treat candy. The pinatas now come with strings to pull so you don't have to hit it with anything so they are good for inside parties and younger kids.

If you really want to get the babies something, which you don't have to, you could get them each a small stuffed animal or toy thats age appropriate.

Just a couple ideas for quick, fun games that a 3-yo will love:

1. Bean bag toss: make bean bags out of fabric, fill with beans, tie tightly with a rubber band. Rinse out tin cans, wrap in festive paper and stack up. Let the kids toss the bags and knock over the cans.
2. Bowling! Make pins with baby bottle filled 1/3 with corn cornels or beans or whatever just to steady them. Roll a medium sized ball to knock them over.
3. Bubble stomp: blow bubbles and let the kids stomp on them. It's just soap so it doesn't stain the carpet. Obviously if it's warm enough to do this outside, it's a lot better!

Have fun!!!

They could decorate their own mask, the eye covering kind, there are all kinds of ways they could do that with foam stick ons, or glitter glue, stickers etc. My kids love doing this...another thing that they like doing is decorating their own cookie or cupcake and you could use the theme of the party for the colors etc. Pin/tape the web on Spidey. I don't know if you have a lot of space or where you are having the party but kids this age just like running around playing with balls or balloons. You could have music playing and let them dance or have paper spiderwebs on the floor and when the music stops they have to find a web, like musical chairs.
I wouldn't try to do a lot of organized play because it will be hard for you and they will get distracted but these are just a few ideas that might help. Have fun!

No favors for babies under 6 months. Between 6 months and a year - depends on the baby. Over a year - give them a ball. Not a balloon - one of those $2 - 3 big plastic balls.

We did a pinata and free play at the park for my son's birthday - but it was in July.

Good luck.
