My sis-in-law (a quilter and crafter) has made many a bear and could probably help you if it doesn't work out to use the other posters (Diana and Bev). Send a note to me if you want her help.
Good luck!

My 8-year-old daughter's beloved teddy bear that she has had since infancy was attacked by a friend's puppy and needs some TLC. He is missing his ears and has a hole in his back side. We actually have been holding onto an identical bear as a backup. I'm looking for someone to repair the damaged bear with parts from the new one. I have no idea where to go. Any suggestions? I'm in East Dallas, but would be willing to drive if necessary. Thank you!

You might check at Build-a-Bear. I know my nephew has had his lovey repaired and re-stuffed there. It doesn't have to be something purchased from them. Good Luck!
I am not an expert but do sew and have repaired many a stuffed friend belonging to my now teens. Would be happy to look at it to see if I can do this for you if you do not find your expert. I am also in east Dallas.
Dear L.,
So sorry to hear about poor Teddy. As mother, grandma and aunt, I know well how important teddys, blankies, etc are. I have made many such repairs for family and friends, but am not in the business of restoration. However, I just got out of the hospital and am confined to the home for the next few weeks and would love to meet with you about restoring your bear. Since you are clever enough to have secured back-up materails it shouldn't be a big problem---just a lot of patience and tiny stitches.
Call me at ###-###-####. I live in east Richardson, near Berkner High. My name is D. Capehart.
