i have made rice krispee treats in pumkin and ghost molds several years for bake sales. They usually go so fast. Use orange food coloring in the marshmellow. They come out so cute.

I just got done with a really cute snack for my son's birthday treat-blue jello jiggler in a clear cup and insert a couple of "Gummy fish"-Presto-Aquariums!

Also saw another really cute way to use the crescent rolls rather than ghosts, make MUMMY's. Paritally roll one over either a hot dog or a breakfast sausage link, leave a space for the face (draw with ketchup or mustard), take a pinch of dough to put over upper part of "face/head".

Good luck and have fun!

Jello jigglers always go over really well and you can cut them into fall shapes!

my next door neighbor made her fantastic banana bread with orange food coloring... she baked them in small (fist sized or smaller) round baking dishes. the dishes had a hole like a bundt pan. She put a pretzle in the hole and drizzled green frosting on to make a pumpkin... I'm sure you could use a ramikin wihtout a hole and just cut a hole after the bread cooled to put the pretzel in.

you can also sign up for a free email newsletter from kraft kitchens for future ideas. they just put an ideas for halloween one out. send me your email and I'll forward it if you like. those ideas are always easy.

Take strawberries and dip them in white chocolate or almond bark, leaving somewhat of a "tail" on them. Once they are dry, draw eyes and a circle for a mouth with melted milk chocolate and a toothpick for a ghost face. Kids love them!

First off you have to check with the teacher about food allergies. Most schools now have very strict rules about what snacks can and can't be brought in. That being said, the new Meijers here in Clinton Twp had some really nicely Halloween theme decorated large cookies and you could do a couple of those or holiday cupcakes.

I know I can't even make cupcakes for my kids birthday's everything for our school district and for the Charter School here has to be store bought with an ingredients list.

Good luck

Always a good hit is to get clear plastic gloves (Gordon's Food Service: the kind food service people wear to protect us from germs). Then you need some candy corns. Put one in each finger as a finger nail. Stuff the rest with popcorn and tie it off with a piece of yarn. Kids love it!

You can make orange rice crispy treats and paint faces on them to look like jack-o-lanterns. Here's the link:

take a tube of crescent rolls....
cut each triangle into 2 or 3 smaller triangles...
stretch them out and shape them like ghosts....
sprinkle shredded mozzerella cheese on top, sprinkle a little garlic powder over top
use sliced olives to make eyes and mouth
bake until done (i think it's 10 minutes or so...can't remember)
you could send those in with a little bowl of marinara if they want to dip...but it's not necessary

Saw a cute recipe toady. Roll out refridgerator pie crust, cut with big leaf cookie cutters. Fill with choc/white chips, pb chips, jellies and cream cheese...anything, leaving 1/4 inch border to lay another leaf on top and seal with eggwhite wash. Sprinkle with sugar and bake til the edges start to turn golden. They were SOOO cute!

You could get some plastic gloves (food service gloves not latex gloves) and put a candy corn in each finger and thumb, then fill the glove with popcorn and tie it off at the top either with a twisty tie or rubber band. Then put a spider ring on one of the fingers.
Another idea is to put some chocolate pudding and crushed oreos in plastic cups with some gummy worms and give each child a plastic spoon. This was done one year in one of my sons classrooms, the kids loved it, but it was kinda messy.
I have also seen fruit and cheese kabobs- skewer fruit chunks and cheese cubes onto skewers. tasty, healthy and cute although not very "Halloweeny" Good luck

I am making pumpkin muffins for my daughters party...it is a spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin (thats it not all the stuff to make the cake just the mix and pumpkin). To make them cute I put a little cream cheese frosting or coolwhip (i like the cool whip better but is messier) and a gummy body part on them or a eyeball gumball. Pumpkin is very good for you and no one gets enough and the little extra on top doesnt make them too bad for them...best part...kids love the muffins, even without the frosting. I make them all year longf to get in that year to get in that orange veggie.
