My husband RSVP'd to a 40th Bday party w/a horror movie theme to it, and we were asked to come in costume! With that said I am trying to think of something unique that my husband and I could go as. I am not into horror movies so I don't really know any of those characters. We would prefer something that isn't gorey(sp?) or to bloody. And also need to keep in mind that since it isn't halloween I don't know how easy it will be to find the stuff to go with a costume. Would love any ideas! Thank you!

What can I do next?

If I had to choose, I would go classic, Frankenstein and Frankenstein's bride, or perhaps the Mummy. I'm not much for horror movies either. Since you don't want the images bloody, Vampire things are out unless you do vampire stuff prior to the biting. That could be a thought. Have fun.

Dress up like Brad and Janet from Rocky Horror Picture Show. To some people that movie is scary. Ha ha.

Hubby could be something scary like Freddy or Jason and you could just dress up like an 80's high school girl - maybe some leg warmers and a pony tail on one side of your head!

A super easy idea, that may not be totally specific to any one movie, but encompasses all vampire movies, would be for one of you to wear vampire teeth, and the other to have bloody red teeth holes in your neck. It would be super easy, as you could wear your regular clothes, but just get the teeth, and fake stick on holes and blood. That stuff can be bought online at any costume site any time of year.

Good luck and have fun!

You could be corpse bride and groom. Go to a thrift store and get an old wedding dress and suit. rat your hair up alot and put whiteish greyish makeup on both your faces. Make the dress and flowers look dingy like you just climbed out of the ground.

my favorite scary movie of all time - Thriller. If you can find find a thriller jacket for him and 80s clothes for you.

If you have a bridesmaid dress or fany type dress and he has a tux or very nice suit you can be the couple from "The Strangers" ... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482606/

They start the movie off at a wedding and then they go the vacation home and they wear their wedding attire for the first half of the movie.

See if he has a favorite. Otherwise, you could go "dead" without going gory. Like draw a scar on your neck as if you'd been decapitated and re-attached. Then just dress normally (LOL!). Use google to search for what you're looking for as well - use the words "easy" "costume" "home made" etc. Good luck!
