I need to find a great recommendation for daycare for my coming soon newborn. Either an at-home daycare or a daycare facility that is cost-efficient. It seems like everywhere I have looked is $700 or more. I live in Peoria & work in Scottsdale so anywhere in-between would work.

Thank you!!

One suggestion-I am currently using a student from ASU that is training in child development- they have job site listing on-line and boards on campus you can post- she is working out great- obviously it's not a permanent solution but at least it will work for the next yr or so until he is a little older(my son is 5 months now)- I work 3 days a wk(her classes are TTh) so if you are full time you might want 2 different people. The going rate is between $8-$10 per hr. - not sure it this is cheaper than the daycare's you've looked at but a good babysitting option otherwise.
My other suggestion is craigslist- you can post or look at other people's job listings.
I found a lot of the nanny services charged too much.
Good luck

I used this service and found several great choices for my newborn who is now 1. They list private (house)caregivers as well as bigger daycare facilities. All listings are approved by the state and have had background checks. Most all are monitored by the state as well. Look for the referrals that have a food program that means they are monitored. Good luck, it's a hard step to take but I'm glad my son is learning social skills as well as how to speak Spanish!

Tania, could you post the web address for the on-line job listings at ASU for child development students?
