I did this last year with a little help from a friend. O got a friend to watch the kids, and I made one of my husbands favorite meals, and delivered it to a friend. Along with the meal I gave him a table cloth, rose petals (i just happend to have) a cd player with a cd of the music played at our wedding, drinks (sparking cider), glasses, etc. and some dessert. I asked my husband if we could take a walk in the park (he thought I was being boring!!!) where we had our wedding pictures taken in, and as we were walking, my friend set up a table with all the fixings for us, kept an eye on it and would back away as we approached, and then I led my husband to the table and surprised him with a romatic dinner for 2. The whole thing was a surprise and he thought it was great, and it didn't cost me anything but the meal which we had to eat anyway! When we were done, my friend cleaned up the whole mess, and we went back to our house to watch a movie together (i picked the movie earlier) and enjoy the evening before picking up the kids.

We recently took our kids to the place where we got married. Let them walk on the stage and told them stories about our wedding. Then we went to the park across the street and had a "picnic" of sorts. The day before I took the kids to the bakery that made our wedding cake and picked up a small cake (like the top of our wedding cake). We all shared the cake at the park. I brought forks and we all ate from the box (I forgot plates and a knife). It was cute. The kids even wanted to take turns dancing with us. Of course their favorite was Ring Around the Rosie...LOL If you don't live in the area you were married in, you could still order a small cake from a bakery and take the kids to pick it up explaining the process you all went through preparing for the wedding and talk about your wedding memories. Good luck. Hope you find something that fits your special day!

Can you re-create your first date? Ours was at a local sports bar where we ate dinner and played darts and then went for a walk on the beach. We actually re-created this date the night we got engaged.

My anniversary is in Sept, my husbands birthday is in Oct, mine in Nov and with Christmas in Dec that is a lot of gift giving, so my husband and I decided that on each of our anniversaries instead of buying gifts we would just do something together. Depending on our finances we either go away for a long weekend, or out to dinner, or pack a lunch and go to the beach or the park. Whatever you do it doesn't have to be a big deal or break the bank. Just enjoy your day, your time together, and your family!

Hello A., Congratulations!!! how old are your girls? My recommendation would be based on their age group. what year anniversary? what month? there is a list for good luck each year wedding annivesary celebration. Cook and eat breakfast together. Go to the park, have picninc at the park. Watching your wedding video together and your wedding photo album. Cook family dinner together, bake some cookies or cupcakes. Enjoy your quality time together, have fun!!!
