I'm throwing together a first birthday party at the last minute, for a baby boy who has had a hard life. We found out he wasn't getting a party and want him to have a special day. We would like a really neat cake, but the party is Saturday afternoon. I have used both Target and Walmart and would rather not have to again. I find their frosting and cake yucky. Does anyone know of a bakery in the Lewisville/Flower Mound/Coppell area, that could make a cake on short notice? I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask!! Thanks!

I would go to Sugar Queen cakes in Lake Dallas or Davis Purity Bakery in Denton or Celebrity Bakery in Flower Mound. Other than that it is grocery or super store
Try Outta the Oven on MacArthur and 635 or Magnolia bakery in Lewisville. They need 24 hours notice and can make a great cake. They cost a bit more, but the cake is excellent. It really is from scratch. Or you can buy one of their pre-made cakes and have it personalized.
Kroger makes great cakes also.
Try Tom Thumb, the only thing I would caution about is the black icing tastes like black lorice (sp?). They also have tons of premade cakes so you could always find a premade one that you like and have them write something on it. I don't belive that they charge to write something on cakes.
I make cakes and made an extra 10"cake that is 1 layer chocolate 1 layer white today. I have not iced it and it would be no problem icing it however you want by tomorrow. You can call or text me at ###-###-####.
Costco's cakes are usually pretty good. Stay away from Albertson's because they use the same supplier as Target.
I don't know how quickly she could make it, but check out Jamy's Cakes at Home in Keller. http://touch.facebook.com/?w2m#/profile.php?id=443110195454. She has very reasonable prices.

The Tom Thumb bakery on 3040 has really tasty cakes and will decorate one with a few days notice or you can have a day's notice for them to decorate a cake they recently made. Course, I haven't tasted anything but their chocolate cakes as we don't care for white. When I eat a white cake at someone's party with that awful tasting white frosting, I could choke. I usually eat a bite or two and throw it away. I think all they care about is getting the picture of it.
