I am looking for a Gyn in this area, preferably a woman Dr. and the closer to Northwest Community Hospital the better. Does anyone have a good one? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies for all the great info! It looks like Dr. Sadowski and Dr. Scanlon are the favorites, so I am going to give them a call. I so appreciate your responses, and especially for linking me up to Dr. close to home (this helps so much since hubby or a friend will have to watch my little ones when I am at the Dr.!)

Dr. Scanlon is a good gyn.

However, I would run from her and her partners, as well as Northwest Community if you're in need of an OB. Excellent case study for why c-section rates are high and breastfeeding is low (based on my and others' experiences).

Dr. Dawn Sadowski, NW Womens Consultants. She see most of her patients at their office in the Busse Center.

i go to Northwest Womens Consultants. They are on Central Ave. Their GYN office is a few buildings down from NW Comm Hospital. Their OB office is in the hospital. They have several female OB/GYN's. I have been going there for 6 years, no complaints. I really like all of the doctors. Dr Stone Mulhern is who my 'main' doctor is. She's great.

here's the address for their site:

YES...Northwest Women's Consultants. They are a multi-doc practice, I'd say about 50/50 men/women doc's but my favorite is Dr. Dawn Sadowski, she delivered both of my girls. I was rotated through all the docs during prenatal care so that I'd know them all and I don't dislike any of them.

They have two offices, one in the tower attached to NW Hosp and the other about 1/2 block down Central. ###-###-####

Editing....just saw the other recommendations after I first posted mine, and I guess that should speak for the practice!

I love Dr. Ankrah through Woman Care. I know they have a location in Schaumburg and Palatine. I don't know if they have one any closed to Arlington heights, but they are affiliated with Northwest Community Hospital. That is where I delivered.

I worked at Northwest Community Hospital on the OB unit (non-nursing) for several years. During my time at NCH, Dr. Sadowski was a very popular and personable physician. My first child was delivered by Dr. M. Susan Scanlon who is very professional and highly regarded by her peers. Her partners Dr. Ray and Dr. Farhi (both women) are outstanding as well.

Dr. Jackman at Womancare in Arl Hts. She isn't touchy feely, but she is very smart and supportive. When I had problems during delivery, she was a rockstar.

I go to NW Women's Consultants also. I love Dr. Sadowski. She gives me hugs and always talks to me like we've been friends for decades. The men in the practice are just okay IMO but if you won't be using them for labor and delivery you can just see one of the female docs. for your check ups.
