I'm going to an all inclusive resort in mexico and my baby drinks from a bottle. I'm worried about washing my the bottles in the water there. Does anyone have any suggestions? I could use the disposable liners, but what about the nipples?

I had the same situation when we traveled to Mexico with our 3 month old. I brought a dishtowel, bottle brush, and a small hot pot with me and used it to heat up bottled water and washed the bottles in the sink. If you can find one, they have small inflatable foot baths that would work GREAT as a mini sink and it would be easy to pack. Just a thought - have a GREAT time on your trip!!

When my sister in-law went to Mexico to visit family, they had water purchased for drinking and she use that warmed up for washing the baby's things. My mil has well water that is used for bathing and washing dishes and clothes and no problems. Check with the resort to see how visitors are provided water.

Honestly I'd just use the disposable prepared formula bottles from similac (not sure if enfamil makes them also, but probably). It's only a week or so, and it's just not worth risking your baby getting some kind of bacteria and being miserable...which means you are also miserable. I go to Mexico every year with my husband's family. We stay in an all inclusive somewhere different every year - Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, Cancun, and another spot last year on the Mayan Riviera, and every single time the resort assures me the water is safe to drink, it's filtered. And every single year I am on the pot 3-4 times a day. I'm sure it's the water!

It's not so green, and a bit pricey, but if your daughter is formula fed, use the premade bottles from similac. No washing and no water. Have a great trip!

I have also heard that major resorts filter their water but after going to Cancun this summer I'm not so sure. I only drank bottled water but I did brush my teeth with water out of the hotel tap and I drank margaritas, etc. using ice from the resort. I was sick for a week after I got home with horrible stomach pains! I would say be very, very careful because I really would hate to see a baby go through that.

Why don't you use the ready to drink milk bottles from similac or enfamil? It's super convenient and then you can just toss bottles and nipples out.

Hi J.. You should call before hand to confirm but I'm pretty sure that all the major resorts filter their water to make it drinkable. Therefore making it safe to use for bottle washing. But call before, I'm sure they'll answer any questions. Have a great time - I'm do jealous. I need some sun!
