Hi mamas, For the past 9 months I have been a SAHM to my wonderfully adorable son. Recently after looking into our finances a bit have found that it will no longer be possible not having a second income. I am very sad with this... I want to stay home with my son longer and it brings me to tears just thinking about leaving him in child care. My question to all of you is... Does anyone have any ideas on how to work from home? We don't need a huge amount of money each month only like $800 - $1000 or so. Any advice is welcome...Anyone else going through this??? Do I just need to suck it up and go back into the work force??? Help!!

What can I do next?

Hi A.- My husband and I went through the same thing. I did NOT want a daycare to raise my son(s). I am a nanny! I bring my children with me, work 30-40ish hours a week, and bring home $800-$1,100 a month. I am paid weekly, and it is a HUGE help for us to be able to have that extra money. Also, you are able to bring your kids with you, and if you find the right fit (which I did) then things will work out fabulously. Don't forget, your son will be in school before you know it ( I know, my baby is starting kindergarten this year!), so when they go to school you will be able to find a job that may pay a bit more. Good luck to you, L.

I have a Business From Home. I would love to invite you to look. It might be for you. You can for sure make the amount of money you would like to make and work part time. I make more than that. It's awesome and would love to show you.

Hi A. - there are lots of great part time, work at home businesses out there that you can make an extra $300 - $3000+ / month at.

How much time or effort are you able and willing to put in to a business/job working from home? Are you interested in building your own business, or do you prefer to work 'FOR' someone else, on their schedule and rules?

I became a SAHM after my son was 7 months old (5 years ago). My background was in engineering prior to that (I was the director for a tech company on the east side, and before that I also had technical sales, and customer service, but there are people of all backgrounds and walks of life doing what I do now). I didn't want to go back to work, so I decided to look at home based businesses that would allow me the flexibility to create my own schedule and desired income to reach my families need.

I'd be happy to meet/talk with you about what I do. I don't know if it's a fit for you or not, but my company (Arbonne International) has amazing products that I absolutely love and believe in, and the business offers a wonderful way for mommas just like you and I to achieve the level of income you want on a 10-20 hour work week. You can do parties, or you can simply meet people one on one (with or without your kids) to do consultations and education of the products. Or you could do both. I love that I can build a business without 'having' to do parties. Although doing parties helps your business grow faster, and makes you more money quicker.

Feel free to call or email me offline. And visit my website for more information. There are lots of companies out there that could meet your need, you just have to find the one that is right for you. And don't forget, these are 'business opportunities' and not 'get rich quick' schemes. Do your research on the company to make sure it is valid before jumping in. You'll get out of it what you put into it. But if you are willing to do the work, you can meet those financial needs in a very short period of time.

Hope that helps!! And congrats on your baby boy!

Hi A.,
I understand how hard it is to have someone else take care of your son. No one can take care of your little one like you can. I started my homebase business 2 yrs ago and have never regretted it. I help families get healthy and that has been so rewarding. It is my passion for myself and our team to reach thousands of families about the importance of good nutrition. We would love to have you join us! Did you see on the news that they now have a statin drug for 8 year old children? How sad!! This is what we have to face for our children. The food industry is not helping us! Dr. David Katz (from Yale University) says that "This is the first generation of children that will not outlive their parents." I know of so...many young mothers that are thrilled with their business! I hope you will take a look at it. Juice Plus is 17 different fruits and veggies in capsule, chewable and gummie form. We have alot of research from 22 universities and we are in 13 medical journals. There is not a nutritional product out there that can claim that. Consumer Labs did a study for Oprah and they pulled several hundred vitamins off the shelfs and in one of the studies they found lead in the Costco gummievites. So what ever you or your friends give your children please check to see if it has any research. That is so...important! I'm sorry, I could go on and on about what a difference JP has made for families. I'd love to talk to you so please call me. There is no.....pressure. We can just see if this would be a good fit for you. You can make as much as you want in this business. That is up to you, $1000 to $10,000 and more per month. There is no ceiling, but most of all you will truly be making a difference in the health and well being of others. :-)

Cheryle :-)
