Need a Vehicle That Can Sit 5+

We are a family of 4 and the grandparents are usually visiting us. When they are here I would love for all of us to go around in 1 car instead of separate cars. I currently have a Highlander and love it. I would like to buy another vehicle that can sit 6 people and at the same time have a very comfy drive/feel. I don't want to buy a minivan. Are there any vehicles out there that you can recommend? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would highly recommend the Tahoe. I have had one for 4 years now, and just recently bought a new 2007 and love it!! They have made some really nice improvements with the redesign. The Tahoe is nice because it seats 5 very comfortably without the 3rd row seat, so you don't always have to keep it in the car. Then if you need more seating throw it in the back and you have enough for 7 people. I love, love, love my car. I sold Chevy's a few year ago, and my grandfather is a GM at a local Chevy store. If you need a good deal let me know and I will be happy to refer you. ____@____.com

I have a Honda Pilot and love it! It seats 8 people and gets 20 miles/gallon. I have had it since we had our first born 2 years ago. I am so glad to have it as I did not want a mini van either.

I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder that I purchased last year in order to acquire more space. It will seat 7 comfortably but I have to admit that the space it leaves in the back for groceries in such can be a bit tight. The gas mileage is about average and the price for a new one of these is not too bad either.

Hi Deepa,

We purchased a Nissan Pathfinder (2006) that has three rows of seating. It's awesome because the kids love to sit in the third row and the Grandparents sit comfortable in the 2nd row. The pathfinder seats 7 comfortable.

Hello Deepa,
My husband is a car salesman at Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, and large SUVs are his department! He recommended the Suburban, the Trailblazer (extended version), and I think the extended Tahoe.

His number at work is ###-###-####, or you can call the main line ###-###-#### and ask for Blair Bartell!

Good Luck in the hunt!

Deepa, I have a Chrysler pacifica. I absolutely love it. It's kind of like a large station wagon as opposed to a van or SUV so the gas is a little better and it drives more like a luxury car. it has the 3rd row seating so each seat is bucket size. (it also has a DVD player, YEAH!) Goodluck with your search:) N.

I am not ignoring your statement that you don't want to buy a minivan, but I would suggest looking into minivans (if you haven't) before you rule them out. I was not a big fan of minivans either because I thought I was too cool for the soccer mom look. I was looking at an Armada (we owned a Dodge Durango at the time) and started looking at the Nissan Quest once I learned about the superior gas milage. I have now had my Quest about a year and LOVE it!! The convenience of the doors opening at the push of a button is great. It has plenty of room for my family (my husband and I have 3 year old and 6 year old sons and often have my his older son with us), two screens for the DVD, and is a beautiful looking vehicle. I get compliments on it all the time. Good look on your decision.

We had a Suburban and now have an Expedition.

Both will hold 6 (at least) nicely!!

We have enjoyed both vehicles a lot!

Good Luck!

My mom also loves her Highlander, so when she wanted more room she just upgraded to a new Highlander with the 3rd row seat. I drive a Honda Pilot (its supposed to seat 8, but seats 7 comfortably. I love it.

Dodge Durango can seat 8. and I think it's Chrysler that makes the new Aspen that is a large capacity SUV.

Good luck!
