I really don't want to be negative here but if the house is in foreclosure are you sure you will get any money back at all even if you do clean it? It might be worth checking into.
I posted the other day that we were needing to move due to a foreclosure and everyone was so helpful, now I am requesting help finding someone to help with a move out cleaning so we can get our deposit back.
The house we are renting has gone into foreclosure and we are needing to move. The problem is we need to pack and do a move out clean in the space of 2 weeks. In order to relieve some of the stress, I am looking for someone to do a move out clean so we can get our deposit back. I can afford to pay $10/hour and will provide all of the cleaning supplies and lunch.
I will need ceiling fans and base boards throughly wiped down, bathrooms, kitchen, windows cleaned, walls wiped down and anything else that is expected during a move out clean. This is a 1700sf, 4 bedroom 2 bath house. We will be moving on November 30th and December 1st, but if we can have everything packed and at least in the garage, I would like to someone to come maybe on Saturday, November 29th.
To clarify everyone on my deposit. We rent through an agency and have spoken to the property manager who assured me that our deposit is safe. The home does not go to auction until 12/18, so we are still responsible for the home in terms of the lease. That includes cleaning and repairing any damages. So as long as we leave the house in good reasonable condition we should get most if not all of our deposit back.
**Thank you for all responses, but I mentioned to the mom of the little girl I watch that I was going to hire someone to help clean and she offered her help. She understood, since the same thing happened to her last summer.

Just out of curiousity...why do you have to clean to move out of a foreclosed home? Will the bank return your deposit if you do? I am pretty sure the homeowners shouldn't have any problems with a home they don't own anymore, are they planning on returning your deposit? You are a very nice tenant in a very stressful situation. I hope it all works out and you do get your deposit back. Good Luck
Our family had the same situation happen a few months ago. When we spoke to our management company and they said that we did not have to clean the house or carpets or anything.
When the bank takes over they have a team that comes in and removes anything that you left, cleans the yard and inside of the house. This is going to happen anyway. Your owner did not live up to their end of the contract by defaulting on the mortgage and you already have unexpected expenses due to a situation that is not your fault.
Good luck.
HI- YOU CAN TRY ANALILIA HOUSE CLEANING SERVICE ###-###-#### OR ###-###-#### ( Anna or Hose)
My sister was in the same situation as you, she didnt get her deposit back, due to the home was no longer the landlords house. The bank took over and wouldnt give back the deposit since they didnt have a contract with the tenants. If I was you I would check with the land lord to see who will be refunding the deposit and get it in writing if you can. Good luck!
