My husband has tried a couple different brands of deoderant and nothing seems to be strong enough for him. The challenge is that he has sensitive skin and is allergic to almost everything under the sun and most irritate his skin. Does anyone know of a deoderant that is good a controlling odor but not harsh on the skin? Help we live in AZ and the 100 degree weather is here. :-)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I will keep them handy. My husband is currently using the Melaleuca antipersperant deoderant and it's seems to be working well for him. He was using Speed Stick. I haven't noticed any body odor, but I haven't tried to notice either :-) Before I could tell just by walking past him or standing next to him. My husband tells me at least 3x a week how much he LOVES the Melaleuca deoderant. I guess we'll be sticking with that.

I have heard that Dove is great for sensitive skin. A friends husband gets terrible rashes from most, but told me the other day that he loves Dove.

You might want to try deodrant and not antiperspirant. My husband has an issue with antiperspirant, it always makes his skin react. Be sure to check the label to see if it is deodrant or antiperspirant or a combination of both. Also just as a side thought, has he always had a problem with heavy sweating? I just recently started having a problem with it and found out that my thyroid levels were off.

Hi,

My husband always had a problem finding a deodorant strong enough and he also has sensitive skin, although I'm not sure how sensitive it is under his arms. But he finally settled on Mitchum unscented solid stick and it definitely works. But I do believe it is also an antiperspirant, not a straight deodorant.

I'll have to keep Secret in mind if Mitchum ever stops working for him, thanks Marie M!

I know it sounds weird but try Secret.. it's the only thing that will work for my husband and his father.. I have heard of other men that use it.. you can try the unscented so it doesnt smell flowery.. really give it a try..

Check out Sprouts and ask someone in the vitamin section. They have all kinds of item that may work. Toms sticks out in my mind. Good luck.

DH can only wear Speed Stick DEODORANT, nothing with the word antiperspirant can get anywhere near his skin without hurting his skin badly. He has tried (and likes) the deodorants made by Tom's and another kind of natural deodorant (from Whole Foods), but he has found that those don't work as well during the summer and only Speed Stick will get him through the summer non-stinky.
