Need a Costume Idea for Myself

I always like being a gypsy - flowy skirt, scarf around the waist or head & hoop earrings. If not that, I'd go the kitty route.

I say go the Kitty route. Black pants, black shirt, simple kitty ears, and some wiskers done with black eyeliner! simple and appropriate.

Cut out a picture frame from cardboard and go as a self-portrait.

get a white jacket, a pair of glasses, and hello mrs. doctor ::) or nurse.

Here's another easy idea: Pajamas, Robe, Slippers, maybe some curlers in your hair? Don't even need make-up :)

you could make a shirt that says "go ceilings!" and be a ... ceiling fan.

Or put black make up around your eye and a letter P on your shirt (just pin a paper) and be a black-eyed pea.

Lame, but can be funny.

Last year at Joann's (the fabric/craft store) I found a kitty set. It was black fur and had a kitty ears headband w/ a bowtie and a kitty tail that was secured around your waist w/ string and velcro. Very simple and cute. Oh, and it was only $6.99. Just wear it w/ a black shirt and black pants.

I have 2 daughters 5 & 11 - one thing that i have learned w/all of the pre-school/school stuff is to be myself & that's what i do. dont' worry about what any of the other moms r doing or not doing - just go & be urself for ur child! that is what matters - when u hear the children telling ur child how cool their mom is! i have gained the title "the crazy lady" by all of the neighborhood kids, but it's meant in a good way. A cowgirl would be a great costume! have fun! sorry about the typing/spelling - have gotten just as bad as the kids w/the texting & typing lingo! good luck!

I'm too in the same boat. I was going to go as a bunch of grapes. I was thinking of going to Wal~Mart, picking-up some purple (or you can do green) sweat pants and shirt and get some balloons of the same color. Blow them up, pin them on and voila, a bunch of grapes (bonus: you can wear sweats all day!).

How about a red hooded cape...Little Red Riding Hood. You could wear it over your regular clothes. You could carry a basket with a cloth napkin inside of it. No make up needed.

How about an evening dress long and a tiara. Be a queen, princess,etc

If you have an apron, you could wear it along with a home-made chef's hat. To make the chef's hat: cut about a 2" strip of white construction paper or poster board measured to the circumference of your head & staple the ends together. The top of the chef's hat can be made from white tissue paper stapled to the top edge of the construction paper. You can even pleat the tissue paper as you staple to get a more realistic effect.

What is your child dressing up as?? Can you be somethinf along those lines? Exp. My son is going as Buzz Light year so my hubby and I are going as Mr And Mrs Potato head. In the past he was a giraffe and I was a zoo keeper. Other "easy" ideas are scarecrow(flannel shirt, jeans hat and draw on a simple face), or a cat.

I love Halloween! My question to you is though do you have to wear a costume or can you wear halloween festive things! Old Navy is selling long sleeve halloween tees! Some of them are really cool! There are so many ideas out there . you can also look in a catalog for ideas. I haven't decided what I am being but you can take any idea such as a pumpkin. You don't have to wear a big huge round costume , just bring it down a notch to a tee shirt with a jack o lantern face on it you can buy an oragne tee or if you have a shirt you don't mind drawing on take a sharpy marker and draw a face on it! I am 29 but my mother would make all of our costumes as a kid and she had to be creative with the things she used!! There are also web sites for easy homemade costumes! With a pair of overalls, a bandana, a few freckles and a bucket of blueberries you'd be a cute Sal in Blueberries for Sal.

A black blazer and bowtie with a Cat in the Hat hat.

Just raid your child's book shelf for ideas, and bring the book along in your pocket.

Last year my daughter "insisted" tha I dress up as a spider - very easy. Black shirt, black pants, two pairs of black tights, stuffed with batting and tucked into the back of my pants. Voila - 8 legs, instant spider. You can also attach some fishing line from your arms to the tights "legs" so they'll dangle out when you move your arms. Have Fun!

If you still have your cap and gown you can be a graduate.

An apron and a chef's hat you can be a chef.

Some hair gel, tight jeans, and a tee shirt with a guitar or microphone and you can be a rock superstar.
