Nausea Cures!

Ok Mama's.... lay it on me.

I'm pregnant with my second. NONE of my tricks from my first pregnancy are working to alleviate this nausea. It's so bad I will literally gag from time time.

First time around, as long as I kept something in my stomach I would be ok. If it got really bad, then anything tomato based did the trick. This time... not so much.

What do you have for me? I don't care how crazy it sounds! I've got a 2 year old running around. Feeling like I'm going to toss my cookies at any moment is not helpful.

What can I do next?

Sometimes actually "tossing your cookies" can help your stomach to calm down. I've always had severe nausea with all of my pregnancies and I discovered that instead of waiting until I ate everything ('cause I needed something in the stomach before my body would do anything) and couldn't keep it down after eating, that I would eat a little and actually let my body go through with the vomiting (even though I hated to), and then could finish the rest of my meal without throwing it all back up and actually feeling somewhat okay with something in it.

I never found anything to be helpful aside from the above. I'm sure I tried everything in the book. Some things even made me sicker. Fortunately it only lasted the first tri-mester.

Good luck and congrats!

I had the same problem with my second and the only thing that took the edge off was Zofran (it didn't make the nausea go away, but it did allow me to at least function). It was awful so I feel your pain. Ask your OB if Zofran is right for you. Good luck!

I am actually going through month 4 of my second pregnancy myself!
This time has been worse for me then last also although there hasn't been any throwing up either. I have tried keeping a little bit of food on my stomach at all times and that helps most of the time but not ALL the time. Also try a pressure point on your wrist, place three fingers on your wrist (bend your wrist at 90* to place your fingers at the right spot) and at the edge of your pointer finger lightly press there. It may take as little as seconds to a few minutes to help.
Also try kneeling down on your bed (easier on your knees), place a big pillow under your chest/tummy and lay forward. THAT helps me a LOT when nothing else dose.
GL and a huge grats on your second child!

I have *heard* that popcorn (just dry--not all that buttered stuff) will stay down the longest....and that Jello- while it won't stay down longer, at least doesn't taste too bad when it comes back up... :) Good luck!

Through drinking "no to morning sickness tea" I easily managed my morning sickness and nausea that was kicking me off.
