I have been on the search for the same type of practitioner for a while. I think I have finally found one. Or rather a great combination. I don't know where you live, but this doctor is in Keller. He is an OD, they have equal credentials to an MD, but they have a more holistic approachl. The theory behind osteopathic medicine is that the body has to be in balance for good health. I've only seen this doctor a few times, but he is very open to alternative therapies but also recognizes when traditional Western treatments are necessary. If you don't live near here mabye another DO in your area would be a good idea. This is the first time I've seen a DO and will never go back to an MD. I have also tried a Naturopath in Denton that I liked, but I prefer the OD as he can write prescriptions and treat just like an MD if that is what is called for. MD's are intolerant of natural medicine, Naturopaths are intolerant of Western medicine (generally). but DO's seem to be able to unite the two. I've also found an excellent Chiropractor. I have a significant disk injury in my back and was terrified of chiropractors. But it got to the point that the only other answer was surgery and I was willing to try anything else. He does not twist or pop my back, he uses a gentle push and nother ever "pops". On my first visit I thought he was a fraud because I didn't feel anything. But within a few hours I felt better. I've been seeing him intermittently as needed for over a year now and at 23 weeks pregnant with twins my back does not bother me at all. The DO is:
