Natural Treatment for Irregular Menstrual Bleeding

Hi, I am 44 and have been having irregular menstrual bleeding for quite some time. The problem is that it's getting worse. I no sooner finish a period than I start bleeding again. The bleeding is not that heavy, but it's a real nuisance. I have had a sonogram and an endometrial biopsy, and nothing significant was found other than my uterus is the size of 10 weeks pregnant (which I'm told is not that unusual considering I had a baby at 41). My current doctor just put me on Provera which did not help the bleeding. My other options are all surgical and most would make me infertile (ablation, hysterectomy). My question is whether anyone out there has dealt with this problem using homeopathic/natural supplements or treatment. I really am not ready to go "under the knife" but my problem is not going away. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

I am not having that issue, but I do think Dr. Chalmers at Chalmers Wellness in Frisco may be able to help you. All natural, etc. I have been going for hormone issues and he has helped me IMMENSELY!!! I thought I had anxiety...nope, "hormonally a wreck" was the phrase. No more anxiety now. I understand avoiding surgery and other medical means...that is why I am with Chalmers.

The other advice given may be helpful but costly. Quite often, 'alternative medicine' or wellness centers charge a premium for their services. I am a cancer survivor and have learned an incredible amount of information from internet research and some key books that compile research. As a former HS English teacher, I can tell you that some sources are incredibly misleading or one sided. I don't have all the answers, but I would love to share my sources with you.

You may find your relief in something as simple as a progesterone cream or a shift in diet or supplements. Since beginning my search after my daughter was born and I lost an aunt to breast cancer, I have met so many women that were put on provera and developed breast and cervical cancers (no family history). My own ob/gyn could not tell you the difference between a progestin and progesterone - the difference between a carcinogen and a bio-identical substance that is harmless and has no negative side effects.

Please call me. I have a book I would like to give you before you throw money at a naturopathic doctor that will most likely start you on progesterone cream. You can save yourself a few hundred dollars by reading up on your options first. If it doesn't work, then spend $150 per hour for someone to sell you their own blend of science and speculation.

Call if you are interested, and many blessings to you,
L.

M.,
I swear by Arbonne's Phyto-ProLief -- it helped me tremendously. I'd be glad to send you more information and a sample if you'd like. It runs about $11 per month and is a rub-on cream. Contact me at ____@____.com

No sales pressure -- if you like it, great, if not, that's ok too.

I'm only 35 however, it sounds like you are on the start of menapause. It's been the topic at work, and a lot of coworkers who have or are going thru it, said they became really irregular, have period after period before you stop all together having the periods... I'm sure you'll get a lot of great advice from other mothers...

A natropath is not always expensive. I have had breast cancer and chose this form of healthcare since 2000. It is not expensive if you choose the right one that is in it for the right reasons. I too had the problem you are talking about and I am 43 with a 4 year old. She did put me on progesterone cream, but she was able to test me to see what amount and what days not to take it. She uses iridology and muscle testing. A great way to alternative medicine. She is in Tyler but well worth the drive. If you want anymore info. email me.

I have several friends and collegues who have experienced similar situations and have been using Arbonne's balancing cream resulting in success. All of Arbonne's products are botanically-based, with no parabens making them pure, safe, and beneficial. I would be happy to give you information about it and tell you about the discounts Arbonne offers. One of my friends who had to have a hysterectomy has been able to get off of her hormone replacement meds and replaced them with the balancing cream. I know that she would be happy to talk to you too. Feel free to send me a message on here or you can email me via my website www.foravibrantlife.myarbonne.com and I can give you the information you need to make an informed decision. Best wishes! M.

I am almost 37 and am plagued with the same nuisance of irregular cycles and often times constant bleeding. Like you, I tried Provera, but, for me, it only made the bleeding worse. My ob/gyn suggested ablation, which I discussed with my brother-in-law, who is also an ob/gyn, and while he says it works for some there are risks involved. So, at the suggestion of my sister, I am taking birth control pills again. I began taking Seasonique about a year and a half ago. You take pills for 3 months straight, then you have a period. I couldn't be happier. I only have a cycle every 3 months....4 times a year!! I do have occassional spotting, but usually that is only if I have forgotten to take a pill.

Seasonique comes in a generic form and unless my ob/gyn gives me samples, I get the generic filled at the pharmacy because that is what my insurance will pay for. I know taking the pill is not homeopathic or natural, but it really improved my quality of life. Hope this helps....
