Hi everyone,

I could really use some advice. Sorry in advance for the specific graphic nature of this request. I recently developed what I think is an abscess under one of my breasts. I had a similiar situation last summer during a particularly stressful move to a new home and job. I have tried to be extremely to keep the area dry and clean but it seems that now I'm just in pain. Last summer, my doctor lanced and drained it followed by strong pain relievers and 10 days of antibiotics. I really, really don't want to go through that painful experience again. I've read online about tumeric as a homeopathic remedy but I'm wondering if anyone else has any ideas about how much to take and if this has worked. In general I'm wondering if anyone has any advice in dealing with this. I've only had two but it feels really awful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your kind words and advice. I ended up going to my doctor yesterday (yep on a Sunday)to have it drained. It was possibly the most painful experience I have ever had next to childbirth but I'm feeling better. I am DETERMINED not to experience this again so I will definately try some of the natural remedies everyone suggested. Thanks again for the advice and support

Hi Terry!
I am sorry you have this going on. I myself have only had maybe one. But my dad use to get them, and what I did for mine, is what my dad would do...take a hot (as hot as you can stand) wash cloth and apply it to the boil. You may need to do this for a few days, to draw the head/puss out. Also, if that is not working as quickly as you would like, my dad use to put black drawing salve on it and cover it for a night with guaze. I hope this helps! GOOD LUCK :)

My husband get these on his neck and uses the hot hot washcloth for a couple of days as well. The heat draws out the pus. It hurts, but it works.

I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this.
I have a friend who recently described similar types of abscesses. I'm curious whether your doctor had it cultured after he lanced it the last time. My friend's have been shown to be a form of staph infection.
If it is an infection of any kind, you'll want to try to build up your immune system. My friend just started taking Shaklee Nutriferon. It's created by the man who discovered interferon, which is used as a treatment to build up the immune system of cancer patients and people with MS, among other things. Interferon has a ton of side effects when it's synthetic, so he was determined to find natural products that would boost the body's production of interferon, and that's what Nutriferon is. It's the result of 40 years of his work.
Shaklee also has a suggestion for how to draw out the abscess. a solution of 1 T. Basic G and 1/2 T. Basic H2 in a gallon of purified water.
Irrigating the open wound and packing with loose gauze allows a wick to absorb the pus.
You can find all the Shaklee things at this website.

Also, after antibiotics it's important to take a probiotic because they destroy the healthy bacteria in your intestine and it can lead to leaky gut syndrome and a variety of other health issues. A large percentage of your immune system is actually located in the intestines, so it's important to keep them healthy.
Garlic also works as a natural antibiotic.
