We've vacationed several times at the Hilton at Marco Island and we love the area.

We had some friends who lived in a nice community and our daughter also went to some amusement park type place that was a lot of fun. People were very friendly. Our daughter made friend there and remains friends with these teens (they are not druggies either).

We found the beaches and overall area to be clean. We felt safe enough to do a lot of walking, never ran into drug ridden teens or teens acting unruly at the resort or at places we visited in Naples.

I don't know about the schools since we only vacation there.

Yes, there are a lot of snowbirds there but we didn't see issues with it. We enjoy the golf communities as well.

I think the negative post has some past history of being from a divorced family and someone possibly forced to go live somewhere they didn't want to live therefore, anything and everything about it would be negative. I am sure if I were a teen just out of high school and sent to a new place to live where I might not necessarily want to go.... I'd probably be negative too.

We found a lot of positives in the area and we will certainly vacation there again. We make the Hilton Resort at Marco Island our "home" while there.

Good luck.

My brother has lived in Naples for the past 23 years. It is a wonderful community. He lived off of neopolitan way. worked at the palm for many years. he is not there now as he is home in illinois. There are many wonderful neighborhoods. The schools in florida in general have really good special ed stuff. not sure if you need that lol but it is a consideration. the mall at naples is not really great. its a small 1 level. the downtown area is wonderful for shopping and eating. the beach is clean. I have never lived that but have rented a condo every summer for a month and I can tell you that it was really nice. I did not run into drug ridden teenagers like the previous poster lol. but that doesn't mean they are not there just that we did not run into them. there is a great park called jungle larry's that we bought season passes for each summer. my kids loved it.

To be honest, with the exception of the beach, I can't think of one thing I liked about Naples. I moved there right after I graduated high school because that was where my dad lived. I had spent summers there for several years as well. I never attended school there, so I can't help with that, but I can tell you that looking back on it now - I never met anyone (teenagers) that I would want my kids hanging out with. I got involved with different activities and such there and every kid I met it seemed like was into drugs. I try not to be such a downer when I answer questions - but I just hated Naples. I left within a year of moving there and have no good memories of the place. There isn't much for young people to do there - lots of snowbirds.

My sister used to live in Bonita Springs, FL. I think it was called Barefoot Beach. The community was gorgeous, gated, large homes with a nice shared pool between a few homes and fantastic access to the beach and lagoons.

Their girls attended the Community School. That's the name. It's a private school, which probably requires testing.
