every day at both their nap and bedtime it seems that both my daughters (23months & 13months) take off their clothes and diaper. it feels like every time i get them up from either their nap or in the morning there is a mess to clean up. and i don't think it is because they are hot because they still sleep under their covers. i have tried going in their room every hour to check on them and it never fails that they are naked. please any advice will be gratefull!

What can I do next?

Try putting the diaper on backwards before putting them to bed. It will be harder for them to try and get them off. Good luck!

E.,
Hi, here are sonme tricks I used, and they only work for so long cause kids are smart, but, I used to put the diapers on backwards, so the straps were in the back and not the front that way they can't undo them..... Also i used to put underwear over thier diapers, snug underwear... I have found that even on girls boys briefs work best, so buy the smallest size you can, you'll just have to deal with the littel boy designs.

I hope that helps, both my kids went through that phase and those are the two easiet tricks I have found. that are confortable for them and me....

Good luck,
H.

OMG My kids do the same thing every night. I'm glad to see others are doing it too. I like the ideas about the backward diaper. Mine are both two but in two months the older one will be Three. Good luck out there with the strippers!!!

my sons used to do this all the time. my boys are 2 years apart so they didnt to it at the same time but, at the same age. what worked for me was putting their diaper on with the flaps in the back. you may aslo try putting clothes on that they can not take off. good luck S.

My daughter will be 3 in May. It is like clockwork for her. We get dressed in the morning.. go out to the park or do errands.. and as soon as we step foot in the door, the clothes come off. We can go to other people's houses and the clothes stay on. I finally figured out where she was getting this habit from. My husband! As soon as he gets home from work, he takes his pants off and puts on some shorts.. so she figures she will just have to do the same. The same thing at night for us.. she gets her pajamas on.. gets in bed with her sippy cup.. and when i check on her, she is down to her underwear. I was finally able to get her to correct this by rewarding her for keeping her clothes on during the day. Small things like getting a sticker during the day to keep on her shirt tended to keep the clothes on. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately taking off their clothes seems normal at this age range, I have a 13 month old boy who loves to take of his clothes and diaper. I curbed it some by putting him in the one piece zip-up pajamas at night, because he can't un-zip them so he is stuck with them on. It seems to have taken his mind off of taking his clothes and diaper off for the most part. For during the day I'm not sure what to do unless you want to put them in the one piece PJs just before putting them down. I don't know if this will work for you 23 month old though because it will depend on if she can work the zipper yet. Also, if they sleep in the same room, you didn't say if they do or not, they could be influencing eachother on it and you may be better by separating them at their sleeping times for a while. If the one piece PJs work at night you could just separate them for the day time to try to see if it works. Well, those are the only suggestions I have. Good luck.

Dear E.,

I don't know what to tell you except that my great grand daughter used to love to run around the house naked, especially after a bath, and then suddenly during play she would have her clothes off. Maybe they were itchy, I don't know, I noticed her baby brother hating some of his clothes too. Try changing the clothes soap, or the amount of clothes soap you use. Rinse the clothes twice. Who knows.

10 months apart ? No wonder you are tired. Take a rest and be glad that they are healthy. I was looking at some family pictures yesterday and saw my gr grand daughter standing in a family group sitting around for a chat, and she has no clothes on. My own daughter, her grandmother, took her dress up clothes off when we went to enroll her brother for Kindergarten, she was three. She only left her panties on. fortunately that was in the old days when there weren't many people around at enrollment time. I just put some of it back on and took her home.

Both of mine used to pull their's off while they were awake, they loved to be naked! After trying everything I could think of I finally pulled out the DUCT TAPE! I taped it around the diapers, not too tight, but enough so they couldn't pull the diapers off, it worked like a charm! Good luck!
