my husband has been trying for many years(without much success) to treat toe nail fungal infection with natural remedies. hes reluctant to take meds, for fear of damage meds might have on liver, etc. but now, the infection is now only on the toe nail but also on two of his fingers. any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have had this problem. My Dr. said to use tea tree oil. I used it 2x per day apply to the nail and I left a bandaid on so that the oil stayed all day. Cleared it up. Good luck!

Hi A.
Go to this website. I used it to rid a fungus I had on my toe. It lists alot of natural remedies. The thing with nail fungus is that you have to keep the remedy going until the fungus is gone, if you stop half way, it never dies.
www.earthclinic.com
I used peroxide, food grade. It can be found in health food stores or on-line.
Good luck!!
Blessings!

Has he tried soaking in vinegar water? Vinegar is a natural anti-fungal. Also try Tea Tree oil.

added:
An infection such as this can go septic. As in enter the blood stream; it is nothing to play with or poo-poo.

my father's caretaker soaked his feet in bleach/water solution several times/week. It took a few months but this did clear up the fungal infection under his toenails.

Usually any kind of fungus is a sign and symptom of fungus in the body.
He needs lots of good bacteria (acidolphalious) and clean up his body.
This would help but it depends on how bad he is
I do know there is a product (don't know if Rx) that takes care of some fungus but you will have to ask your pharmacist and how it reacts on the body.
Make sure that he gets good bacteria that gets to the colon. Good bacteria is fragile and going through the stomach usually kills most of them so you need to find one that gets the good bacteria to the colon.

My husband was having trouble with something similar and soaked his feet in a mix of apple cider vinegar and warm water regularly and it disappeared. You do want to make sure the apple cider is "with the mother". I've heard horror stories about the meds that are usually prescribed. Good for you to try to avoid them! Hope this helps!

Try making a tea out of oregano and soaking in that.

My husband has the same issue on his toe. We have tried natural remedies without success. I am now looking into laser options they have. Just a thought...
