I am interested in doing mystery shopping for the fun and need extra income. Has anyone done this? Can you make some money at it? Is it fun? Is it a waste of time?

Thanks!

Hi R.,

I did Mystery Shopping before we moved to Denton. I fiund it to be difficult to get assignments and not cost effective. I had to pay for evrything up font and only certain expenses were reimburseable. I never managed to make any money and some of the things you're asked to do are difficult to manage while trying to remain inconspicuos.

If you try it, good luck!

Hi R.,

I haven't try it either and want to know more about the process. We could all use extra income with gas prices.

Sometimes you don't get paid in money... but in points (that add up and you turn them in and get prizes) or gift certificates. But I do know some people get paid... just finding a reputable company would be tough. Perhaps you could go to a major dept. store customer service and ask who they hire through.

I have looked into mystery shopping a little, but haven't found too much worth while. Good luck with that! I have, however, found an amazing opportunity to make money from home! I am home with my two girls, work my own hours, make extra money and I'm having the time of my life! Let me know if you are interested in receiving more information about it! Good luck to you in whatever you decide!

I often wondered if that was a scam or not. I know I have looked into it and you have to pay them to get you hooked up with different establishments. I was always told if you have to pay somebody then it is probably risky. Good luck, Pam

Hey R.,
I don't know anything about mystery shopping, but if that doesn't work out..have you thought about becoming a Creative Memories Consultant?
Let me know if you are interested or have any questions about it. Its a fun way to earn extra income and meet new people.

I did some mystery shopping before I had my baby-I don't have time now. It doesn't pay that much. Most of my shops were at clothes stores or fast food, and I probably made about $10-15 on each. You shouldn't have to pay to sign up. Lots of people are selling the names of companies online, but there is no reason to pay for them. You can just Google mystery shopping to find companies, and you sign up for free. Then, if they have a shop available in your area, they will email you.
