We just found out that my wife is pregnant and they ran blood work on her and found that she had a really low white blood count. We went back to take more blood work to conform and it came back the same, anyone else experience anything like this, please any advise will be greatly appreciated my wife can't stop crying. Thank you in advance

So What Happened?

First call back from the doctor was to return to take more blood work, which we did today, and the nurse said it came back the same. So the dr is scheduled to call us this afternoon.

Thank you so much for replying and for the link. Reading that other women had similar low wbc during pregnancy keeps me so positive.

how do you have a pregnant wife who has enough medical support that she can get blood work, but you don't have a doctor you can consult to correct her blood count and address her endless weeping?
what help precisely are you seeking from strangers on the internet?

I think if you or your wife have fears/concerns you need to talk to your doctor till you get answers you can understand and then ask them what you can do next.

Hope everything works out well. I'm a little surprised by a couple of the responses you got. I'm sure him and his wife are consulting the doctor. I'm sure he was just looking for some positive outcomes other women may have had with the same situation. Jeez, it's already difficult for many men to understand any of this but one comes here to ask a question and he's treated like a dummy. C'mon ladies give the guy some credit for coming here trying to find some comfort for him and his wife!

I found this. http://community.babycenter.com/post/a17042005/low_wbc_count As you can tell from the answers, there can be a lot of reasons for the low count. Stay positive! Please let us know what happens. Blessings to you both!!
