My 18 month old daughter loves corn on the cob and eats an whole ear of it! But then the next day she has the entire ear of corn in her poop. The kernels do not get digested at all and come out whole. Is this a problem? Should I stop feeding her corn? She doesn't have any other adverse reactions at all to it. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Hi, A..
My 17 months old daughter likes corn too and I always see them on the other end the next day! :o)
I think that happens to most of us, even adults. My daughter is going through a phase where she's really picky with her food, so even most of it come out the other end the next day, it makes me happy seeing her eat something like corn. So whenever she wants it, I give to her. I heard that it's healthy.

Actually corn is extremely hard to digest for anyone so don't worry. I wouldn't stop giving it to her since it doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

It's funny that you post something about corn. We all ate corn last night and I couldn't digest it either, yes, it all came back. LOL. So don't worry tooo much about it.

This is not a problem because corn doesn't digest in the digestive track for anybody. You may have noticed it in your other children's BM's because they may not eat as much of it but it is there. Corn seems to be my kids favorite vegetable but it is mostly full of starches and few vitamins. But if she really likes it wont harm her:) HTH

No human being is capable of digesting corn, in fact it's the only vegetable that comes out the same way that it went in. It's perfectly normal so don't worry about feeding it to your daughter if she enjoys it. The only people that shouldn't eat corn are those with diverticulosis/diverticulitis as it gets stuck in pockets that are in the intestinal lining.
