My Poor Sleep Deprived Baby:(

My son started school Monday and boy it's been rough on my 6 month old! She usally gets up around 830am but I have to get her up at 7 to get my son to school. And our school district doesn't provide buses for kids unless they are 2 miles away...so I walk with him the 1.2miles because its faster then driving though that mess! So how can I help my little baby adjust? I put her to bed around 730, she will wake up around 12-1 to nurse and was sleeping til 830ish. That hr is making her a mess! Shes so tired by the time I get back home. Any advice from you moms with older kids in school and babies? TIA :) also he's only in 1st grade and walking that far without an adult wouldn't make me comfortable...nor do I think he would anyways
Added: yes i use a stroller...my baby is a light sleeper so the slightest movement wakes her up. And she doesn't fall back asleep once she's in it...

What can I do next?

Hello,
I would just try to change her bedtime in the evening. Why not try to put her to bed at 6:00 or 6:30 instead of 7:30? I admit that from 6 months to probably 3 years old, our daughter went to bed at around 6 p.m.. It was kind of the running joke in our extended family, but I never cared. We had to get up early to get to work, and I'm a big stickler on kids getting the required amount of sleep, so it worked for us.

What about putting her in a carrier....that's the only way my 10 month old sleeps on the go. Mines never napped in a stroller, so I always bring carrier so she can get a nap...zoo,mall, fishing trip, etc. besides that or moving her bedtime up.....that's all I got.

Does your son have a friend or neighbourhood kid he could walk with instead? Or try to trasfer her to the stroller without waking her?

Are you using a stroller? I was always able to transfer my sleeping baby to the sling without him waking up at all. The walking should put the baby back to sleep. Good luck.

Are you using a stroller? When my other kids were little, i would place them in the infant car carrier, then on the stroller -- for my exercise, and she would always fall asleep. Ans since she was asleep in the car carrier, i would just bring it in and let her sleep thru her nap. It was actually good to get her into that routine. How are you carrying your little girl? I hope this helps.

You didn't mention your baby's nap schedule. Perhaps put the baby down for a early morning nap as soon as you return home.
