My Little Girl Is Trying to Grow up Too Quickly

There are things that are adult, and then things that are just good hygene.
Deoderant, shaving, and etc. are hygene. Yes, you should teach her how to shave and give her the time and privacy to take care of herself like a young lady needs.
Next comes hair products, training bras, and pierced ears. You remember the stages.
I definately would not deny her the things that make all of us comfortable and beautiful as women. Just put a cap on it at extremeties like make up...
By thye way the new razor "Intuition" has the shaving foam in a kind of soap bar around the head of the razor. I have sworn by it since I discovered it, no razor burn or nicks ever. I think it would be great for a young girl.

My oldest daughter was shaving by the time she was in 5th grade and that was even putting it off for a while. She's very fair complected like I am but she has her dad's traits of the italian in her. Her legs looked like a grown man's. I did let her use the veet system for 1 year before I let her start shaving but veet has it's downsides too!

My daughter who is now 14 started shaving in 4th grade.She had very dark hair and lots of it from the time she was small.She started to worry that the other kids would make fun of her.It was hard for me to think of her shaving (ya know my little girl growing up)but what was even harder was the idea that she would get hurt from being teased sooo...her feelings won over mine.I'm not sure there is a set time for this it's more on an as needed basis I know when I was young I had light hair so it wasn't even an issue till I was about 13.

Being hispanic with very dark hair I was ALWAYS so self conscious about the hairy legs and YES even the "moustache". I secretly shaved my legs too because of course all the boys were making fun of me. I think I was in 5th grade so maybe 10/11 yrs old? IDK - there's one thing to be said for growing up too fast BUT when it comes to appearance or being teased I look at it differently because I went through it. I was not allowed to wear makeup or until i turned 16 unless it was a special occasion, no dating until 16 either. I was not allowed to wear revealing clothes no matter what. I grew up in a very strict household otherwise. When I was in 9th grade after much debate and begging my mom agreed to take me to have the "moustache" removed through electrolysis. I think it's all in what you teach her about responsibility - I consider the shaving part of hygiene and growing up (sad) but not as a sign that she's trying to grow too fast.

My daughter started shaving her legs last summer when she was 9. I too thought she was too young but the hair on her legs was so thick that it looked horrible when she wore shorts or a bathing suit.

Well i must say that i started shaving in 5th grade because i am african american and the hair on my legs is also really dark i was ashamed and afraid to wear shorts so i went half way through the summer wearing pants(which was really uncomfortable) if she is noticing it and wanting to shave i don't see anything wrong with it the other girls in her class are probably already doing it too.
