My Little 11 Month Old Discovered His Parts Tonight!

My little one usually joins us at the dinner table but was in his playpen tonight with his back toward us quietly playing. I cleaned up after dinner and went to pick him up. A funny sight met my eyes...he had his diaper open and was poking at himself. He also decided to pee everywhere in the process. All I could do was laugh and take him for a bath! What are your experiences with your little boys? Should I expect more of the same? LOL

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. Fun times ahead it looks like :) I have a 4 year old girl and haven't dealt with any of this yet. I will be sharing your comments with my husband, hehe

All I can say is yes, you can expect more of the same and more! My two year old son has had us laughing many times already. He prefers to be butt naked which proves to be a challenge for me because he will then pee everywhere and think it's funny. He's my first boy so I'm learning as we go. I have to keep asking my husband, is this normal? Hahaha.....boys are funny.

Yep - for the rest of his natural life, minus the peeing all over. Just have to teach him privates are for private time :)

My son (17 months) does this in the bath all the time. I think it's hidden in a diaper all day long and then when he sees it, he needs to check it out! Totally non sexual, it's normal. I just tell him, that's your weener :p and he say's wee-wee! haha. No biggie

They love to play with their toes and fingers and ears, but their penises get hidden from them all day long! So there is definitely going to be some curiosity! Good job not freaking out about it! It's nothing sexual, and can even be a self-soothing behavior, like sucking their thumb. We just have to teach them when and where it is/isn't appropriate to to play with.

Lol. funny. I think it maybe normal for them to do that. lol. Everytime I change my son diaper he grabs on himself. At first it was funny but now its not because trying to keep his hands away from down there and change his diaper at the same time is very challenging. I usually end up having to wash both of our hands. lol.

It happens with both girls and boys. I just taught my daughter it's ok to touch herself but we only touch our private parts when we are in the bath or shower so that both her hands and her parts were clean. Don't need infection because of curiosity.
