Along with what the other ladies said I would start giving him cup. That was when my son started eating more of what we ate and he drank less from a cup than he would from me ( I breastfed and he never would take a bottle ) I started giving him a cup at mealtimes and still nursed at inbetween times and bedtime. Then gradually cut those out too. He still got the recommended amounts of milk ( I pumped but you can certainly put formula in a cup )
Good Luck!

Usually around this time babies start getting picky with what they eat b/c they are ready for table foods! I do daycare and in my experience kids stop eating baby food when they are ready to move on to bigger things :) In fact, in the state of Minnesota the food programs that daycare providers use encourage feeding table foods by 9 months. start with simple things...cheese, bagels, bread, noodles, banana slices, avocado, etc. you could try feeding him table foods and sneaking in bites of rice/oatmeal cereal between his bites of table food. He is just letting you know he's ready for new things :)

it could also be teething...maybe one yr molars starting already??? ear infection...so may different things. It would be nice if they could tell us what they need. Most likely he is just ready to move on to new foods. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Depends on what you are feeding him. If you are still trying to get him to eat jarred baby foods, he's well beyond that, give him table foods, cut up whatever you are eating into small bits and give him a plate and a fork and spoon, let him feed himself.

my baby was the same way. i tried every vegetable, fruit, dairy that they recommend for babies' first foods, starting at 6 months. she wouldn't eat any of it. then at 10 months, we were eating ice cream and i thought, "why not?" well she loved it (of course) but then all of a sudden was open to eating other foods in a more solid form. so, just keep offering foods that are okay for his age, and some day, he'll be ready. until then, don't worry, he's getting all the nutrients he needs from the breastmilk/formula.

you may just have to wait. According to my mom I wouldn't eat anything until I could pick it up my self. My oldest son wasn't quite that bad but by age 1 he was done letting me feed him and he had to do it alone.

Try giving him finger foods like cheese cubes or soft fruits and veggies that he can pick up on his own.
