My husband fixes bridges so he is up in the air about 100 or more feet on average every day. Last week he said someone had thrown a bike over the side of the bridge he is currently working on and he was going to bring it home for spare tires in case the boys blow a tire . The bike was pink and purple. My kids and the neighborhood kids think this bike is the coolest thing ever.. All boys taking turns riding it! The bikes name is Misty and I will be refering to it as Misty from now on. I bought some black spray paint and duct tape with flames on it. My husband(with all the kids watching over his shoulder) painted Misty and used the tape for the seat and handle bars. Oh my goodness you would have thought he made the bike out of candy the way these boys took turns riding it today. One boys was like this bike is so unusal..lol Well my kids have been fighting over it. We rode to my parents and my 5yo wouldn't let my mom touch it. They fought about who was going to ride it there even though they both have brand new bikes, I told my husband we are going to start "buying" their presents in the trash! If you have ever seen that movie Christine the movie aobut he killer car that the owner becomes obsessed with and then the care starts killing everyone else he loves in his life..I said Misty is just like Christine! So my kids surprised me how much they like this bike how have your kids surprised you lately?

What can I do next?

just today, my teenager helped his dad move some of my daycare play equipment. One of the pieces is a castle.....& my son decided he was going to play King with my toddlers. What a riot! He's almost 15 & is taller than I am......& he was popping in/out of the castle, blocking the little kids, & fighting over/egging them on. My DH & I were hysterical .....he barely fit thru the openings & finally had to jump off of the top because the kids were swarming all over him! I'd say the babies won......

& then he went inside & resumed his shopping for his 1st car. What a contrast of choices! Teenhood can definitely be a time of split personalities!

Usually my 4 year old bosses my 3 year old around like a little drill sergent. But today at dinner I told my 3 year old to have 3 more bites if she wanted dessert, and because she was SO overtired she started crying. My 4 year old dropped her garlic toast, did the slow turn to glare at me and demanded "WHAT did you do to my sister?". I about fell out of my seat. I explained that I just told her she needed to eat more or no dessert. So she comes back with "You tell her she CAN have dessert RIGHT NOW Mama!" LOL

I was surprised by her passionate defense of her sister. I mean, they always hug each other when one gets in trouble...but this was too much! After my husband and I stopped laughing we told her she cannot talk to mama and daddy that way, and she apologized. But that LOOK! It was too funny.

My son just came home from preschool and said that he learned to count to zero. He was so excited and I was trying so hard not to laugh! All night he's been counting to 10 and he starts at zero. It's so funny.

We were in the car the other day and I said something about how the car in front of me was driving so slow, so my son asked me if I was talking to myself. I said no, that I was talking to the car in front of me, and he said Okkkaaayyy in that voice that clearly meant he didn't believe me. I was laughing so hard I could barely see the road! Kids are funny that way.

I also love how my son will find these random things and then they become crucial pieces of his Thomas train tracks. He held onto a candy cane box because "It's the most perfectest place for the engines to sleep!" Or a twist tie on the bread wrapper because it was cargo for the train. It goes on and on. I'm sure I could find Christmas in our junk drawer!
