I would get a referral from your current physicians. They all know one another and understand circumstances. They will be able to refer you to folks with similar practice philosophy or those they believe will treat you similarly to the way they have.
Good Luck!

Christy J is right! As a former clinician I will tell you that we all know eachother (or at least by reputation) within at least a 30 mile radius. Your current provider knows you best and would be the best person to provide suggestions!

Ask your insurance company for a list of providers in both specialties. Then ask your current doctors to recommend someone from that list - they often know their colleagues. They can also send your records over to the new doctor. Sometimes you can do a brief meeting to "interview" the new possibilities to see if you like them. I did that while choosing a pediatrician for my son - it was great. Meantime, if possible, before the switch takes place, refill your prescriptions (if you have any) so you have some lead time while finding new practitioners. Or, see if your doctors have any free samples they can give you to tide you over.

Good luck - I know this is stressful but it's possible you will find someone you like just as much or even better!

I would go online to the new insurance provider and print out a list of "accepted" OB/GYNs. Then I'd call your OBs office. Ask them if you can fax them your list (or email it) and have them give you some referrals.

Then, please, interview a couple. Bring/call them with questions about their hours, what hospitals they practice at, how do they handle cancellations, what if you have an infection and need to be seen ASAP, etc.

I always love recommendations, but still ask questions and make my own decisions.
