Sounds like you need an estate lawyer, especially after 7 years.

I'm an insurance agent in AZ. Just because he had a policy, doesn't mean you were the beneficiary. If it was thru the Masons and paid for by them, they probably recieved the proceeds at the time of his death. I would start by asking them directly. Good luck.

What lodge did he belong to? How involved was he? I know when a Mason passes away the lodge has a special service for the member who just passed.

Are you just now finding out about this policy and he passed away in 2005? Did you not know he was a Mason? There may be a statute of limitations, I don't know.

Find our where he was a member and go from there with the officers to find out how to track this information. If he was a Master Mason, there will be some sort of file somewhere and you should be able to locate the documents with the state if you have the proper id's, etc.

If the Lodge is at a loss as to how to help you since this is almosst 8 yrs old, an estate attorney might be able to track something for you.

Good luck.
