My Husband and I Really Want a Boy This Time.

I have always heard in the back of conversations what I belived to be old wives tales so to speek about how to predetermine the sex of your baby. My husband and I have two beautiful girls, 8yr old Jadienne from his previous marriage and our 1yr old Olivia. Everyone always jokes that my husband is a girl baby maker. We so desperatly want to have a boy on our second go around, because we have planned to have two children together and call it quits. So we thought how perfect would it be to have a girl and a boy, so that we could experience both. I have only recently been hearing more fact based tips and advice on this subject, but I would really love to hear from some of you that have tried these methods and succeeded.

What can I do next?

I planned the sex of my babies, as did my mom and her three sisters. We have twenty-some-odd kids that were planned, and a boy is easier to try for than a girl. Message me if you want to know more.

Check out the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", by Toni Weschler. She gives great information on how to get pregnant including giving you the best chances to conceive a boy or girl. Nothing is 100%, but her method is based on science. Good luck!

I recently heard it that the Mother might have something to do with the sex of the child. I would surf the net. But in my college sex education course, the book stated it was the MALE as the determining gender maker. Good luck!

You know .. it's just a bunch of wives tales IMO! You can do all the 'right' things to give you boy but only God knows what you'll have! It'd be nice if we could choose the gender ... but I don't think anything 'really' works ... just take whatever gender you're blessed to have! :-D

We desperately wanted boys and tried everything imaginable to make that happen. Two daughters later I can tell you the only way to guarantee you'll have a boy is adopt.

Also, even though we had two girls, we don't feel like we're missing a thing. They are happy, healthy, funny and so far are best friends. (I've heard there is a lot of fighting in boy/girl siblings.) They are close in age so they can wear a lot of the same size clothes (saved LOTS of money.) And last year for Christmas we did all "boy" toys just for grins, and they are having a blast playing with their transformers, trains and cars. We never imagined we'd enjoy girls so much. God knew what he was doing.

I really hate to be critical, but whatever happened to wanting a healthy baby? If you get pregnant and the baby is a girl are you going to love her any less?

When I was pregnant we did not find out the sex of our child until he was born. And so many people were enraged because we refused to learn the sex of our baby until birth (everyone in our family wanted us to have a girl). We always said, what difference does it make, we are not going to love the baby any less either way.

When our son was born we learned just how important it is love your child NO MATTER WHAT THE SEX! Our son was born with pneumonia and was in the NICU for 27 days! I could have cared less about whether he was a boy or a girl, I just wanted him to make it through a terrible illness and be able to be healthy.
