My Daughter's Chin Quivers

I have an adorable 8 month old baby girl who's chin is still shaking and quivering at times- especially when she wakes up from a nap or in the morning. I have read that this is common when they are newborns and that because of their underdeveloped nervous systems this can occur. However, I have not read anywhere that this should still be happening. I am a little concerned! Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

Hi A.,
I remember worrying about the same thing with my now almost 4 year old son. I asked the Pediatrician about it at the time and she said it is normal. So you can relax! I think it can go on for as long as up to a year.
Hope this makes you feel better!
Best Wishes!

Hi A.,

I agree with the doc that it may be an underdeveloped (or agravated) nervous system. At this age, babies are very sensitive to the neurotoxins that most of us have gotten use to over the years. Any cleaning supply, laundry detergent, baby bath or shampoo or any other body product, even something that you use because you are so close, can exacerbate a neurological issue if it is not non-toxic to humans.

Sythetic chemicals build up in our systems and don't just give us a symptom here and there, but can develop into something else down the road. Because of the numerous things on the market, there is no way to tell in what combination these chemicals will cause what issue. What I always advise, get rid of them all. Detoxing can be very simple and inexpensive and it will not only help your little one, but everybody else in the household. If you want more information, feel free to get back to me. I'd love to help.

God bless,

M.

This is a very old question - but I'm wondering if you ever found anything abnormal from your pediatrician? My 8 month olds chin quivers when he wakes up from naps too and was curious as to what happened with your daughter. I think it's probably normal but hope you confirm :)

My son is 7 1/2 months old and his chin still quivers. It's getting better as time goes by. I was told by his pediatrician that it is a fairly normal nervous system issue and will resolve on its own as he gets older. I can't remember for sure but I think somewhere between 12-18 months it should pretty much be gone. Hope that helps.
