I got a whole bunch of dance stuff at a mom to mom sale. I think you said you tried that....but I would also look at garage sales. At the mom to mom sale I went to in April, I got 5 leotards and a pair of tap shoes for $7. Good luck!

My daughter is in gymnastics and I either get new at Target, or I get used from craigslist or the Thrift Store. We are fortunate that we actually have decent thrift stores that carry newer stuff. Anyways, IMO I am comfortable with used leotards and with how fast they grow it seems silly to spend soo much money on new.

target carries danskin for kids dancewear. I danced up intill I got pregnant with my son and I always ordered from dancewear.com They carry girl and womens dancewear. something to keep in mind if she likes it and continues it. jrs and womens dancewear tend to run small so always buy a size up (i'm not sure about kids sizes)

im not sure if your looking for brand new or used, but i use the website www.craigslist.com alot. and i know nothing about dance or where you can find it, so im sorry if im wrong, but maybe ebay?? i dont know lol.. i just thought id throw my two sense in. i use google for EVERYTHING so what i would do is go to google.com and type in "cheapest dance wear" and browse through the results..hope i helped!

My daughter does ballet and tap. We get her shoes through the class, but Target and Payless carry ballet shoes. They both carry tights as well which you'll need. And Target has leotards. Look in the girls section as there's an area with all the ballet stuff.

My daughter is also 3 and just started dance. We got her leotard at Academy for $7.99 I think and I found another pink one at a consignment shop for $3. For shoes though, she has really small and plump little feet so I went ahead and had her feet fitted on a dancewear store.

Your dance teacher is most likely going to have a class "Uniform" so to speak. They should all wear the same leo, hose, and shoes. This helps the teacher to focus on muscles, placement of feet and arms, etc...if they are distracted by various tutu's and leo's they can't focus on the part that is their job.

Ask the dance teacher if she has any used stuff, occasionally someone will outgrow things and they will ask the teacher to give it to someone that needs it.

Otherwise look around for resale shops, I but tons of our gymnastics leos at one here in my town for a fraction of the cost of athletic shops prices.
