My Daughter Is So Weird Sometimes...

So my daughter is congested (of course a week before we get on a plane), so I used that saline spray on her. And she LOVES it! Seriously she is asking me to do it again because she thinks it's funny. :) Don't get me wrong, I am happy that it's not a struggle, but I have to laugh because almost every kid I know hates having that done. She also likes to be scared. Like if we catch her off guard and startle her, she may jump fifteen feet, but then she will laugh and say "AGAIN". Really though, does any of your kids like having the nose spray thing done? Or what weird things do your kids do?

What can I do next?

Yep, lol, mine will be two in August and she will try to take the spray from me to put it up her nose and do it herself lol and mine too likes for daddy to pop out of nowhere and scare her then chase her - she just laughs and runs -so cute -maybe it just means they'll be adrineline junkies lol :oP thanks for sharing!

LOl... she sounds like an adventurous spirit! Let it ride and be so happy that she isn't afraid. She must be a lot of fun. :)
My daughter used to like being sprayed in the face with water from a squirt bottle. She would giggle and beg to do it again. I went to get my hair cut and the girl went to wet my hair down and I grabbed the squirter when she was done and gave my little girl a squirt in the face. The hairdresser looked at me like I was horrible, but when my little girl started to laugh hysterically it was contagious. Everyone had a good laugh.
Hmmm.... my darling daughter (now 18) has been pretty moody lately between the car situation and graduation. Maybe I should get the squirt bottle back out!

My son loves the saline spray too! Ordinarily he hates the bulb syringe, but if I do the spray first there is no struggle. Maybe it tickles. Or, maybe the relief they get from it is so wonderful that they don't fight it. Who knows? My son also loves it when I bite his fingers... Kids are weird :)

my little one always wants more tylenol and doesnt really understand why he can't have it. oh and he also likes to be startled, he thinks its hillarious! the other day I grabbed him by his hips and held him upside down and he started crying so i set him down, he looks at me for a second then shouts Again! And if i tell him he has to try a certain food he will just hold it to the tip of his toungue and then put it down and declare he is done (he is 22mnths), and yesterday he got this idea in his head that my mom was suppose to come over (I still have no idea why) he went to the window and kept saying Gam! (how he says grandma) over and over. when i told him grandma wasnt coming over today he sighed and then started calling "Baa? Baa?" (this is what he calls his great grandma) i told him Baa wasnt coming over either. he got up went to the fridge where we have a pic of him and my mom, and pointed to it and started babbling like crazy.

I wish my daughter was so easy going about nasal spray!! I have to hold her head down and pin her arms down too and even then, she'll jerk her head and I will miss her nose!

GRRR... be happy she's such a willing participant!! LOL

My 6 and 9 year olds like it too. I stress that they are only allowed to use it when stuffed up or sick. I don't want them to become dependent on it. Then it won't work when they need it too. Plus I don't want them to get addicted to it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, he especially likes doing it on his own. He also enjoys people ramming into him down a slide. I can't fathom having people kicking me in the back, but for some reason he gets a kick out of it. The downside is he thinks everyone else enjoys it.

He also LOVES to spin. We have laminate floors so we put a wash rag down so his head isn't bouncing around and spin him like no tomorrow. We always joke that he's going to find some job that turns his stomach upside down-astronaut, pilot or something :)

My kids have their fair share of weird. My oldest though...his stops me and I still to this day am trying to figure it out. We love popcorn. And he for some reason thinks he is allergic to it. He is not. I have had moms ask me after playdate..''oh, I wish you would have mentioned, Brody is allergic to popcorn''...I look at the mom..''nope, he is not. I would have sent a note with him if he was'' Then the moms think I am crazy....he just has a food aversion to popcorn...which in his mind could be life threatening!

My middle guy...will do anything in his power to ''have'' to pee outside! We have six people(one bathroom), three adults and two potty trained kids, one kiddo that will just lock the bathroom door for fun. This makes for a pee outside equation if someone is in the shower.....So, nine morning outta ten...I can bet that my GG is going to try and get the green light to pee outside....at least he asks me!

My third....This is not that unusual, I know alot of moms that have this issue...He has to do everything himself. If I even were to try and do something for him...There will be hell to pay. If I try and put his FULL cereal bowl down, without offering it to him to carry to his seat...I can pretty much know the bowl will be going on the floor in a fit of rage! It can getting SO frustrating!

Count your blessings with the meds...she's very trusting of you. Is she trusting with others as well?

One time a little girlfriend of my daughters was over playing and got some sand in her eyes, so I brought her into the kitchen, talked her through what I was going to do.....as in tilt her head sideways and flush with saline and that it would drip into the sink....she was perfectly still and compliant and the procedure took less than a few seconds because she was so good...to this day I have never forgotten that. I asked her mom about her obedience especially with a stranger...and she said yes, it worries her, she's so trusting of everyone, she fears it could lead to potential stranger danger dilemmas.

And my son loves to be scared. I wonder if she'll like horror movies as an adult???

My youngest likes to take medicine. When she had an ear infection, she hated the ear drops but had absolutely no problem taking the antibiotics (possible strep as well). She got mad when I told here there was no more. She was even like this as a baby with infant tylenol.
